📣 Update: The public call for evidence for the National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation in England is open.
We hear from women and new parents feeling overwhelmed, unsupported, and worried about safety during pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period every day.
We understand how difficult this investigation may be for you, as someone who has recently had a baby or if you are currently pregnant.
Whether to take part in the survey or not, will be a very individual choice. But most importantly, you should do what feels right for you.
The call for evidence consists of two surveys: one for women and people who have been pregnant to share their experiences of maternity and neonatal services; and one for people who have supported someone through pregnancy.
The surveys are available online, with easy-read versions, translation into seven languages, and a postal option for those who prefer not to respond online. Interpreter support and one-to-one interviews are also available.
We're here to support you. We have local groups and events for you if you need someone to listen, evidence-based info online for all your pregnancy, baby, and new parent questions, and NCT's experienced practitioners can support with sensitive topics like feeding your baby.
Know that at NCT, we will continue to call for safe, personalised, and equitable NHS care for every parent and every birth 💚
