📣 Well deserved award for Mary 👏🏻
Mary Stewart, Malaglate, North Uist has been recognised by North Uist Community Council for her 40 years of exceptional voluntary service to the Poppy Scotland appeal, receiving the Clisham Award from Volunteer Centre Western Isles - Uist.
Joined by members of the Lochmaddy Women’s Institute at the Old Lochmaddy School, Joan Ferguson, Chair of North Uist Community Council, presented Mary with the award.
Speaking on behalf of North Uist Community Council, Joan highlighted Mary’s long‑standing dedication and the significant contribution she has made for more than four decades organising the Poppy Scotland collections across local shops and businesses throughout North Uist and Berneray. Mary’s remarkable commitment demonstrates unwavering commitment to the cause.
