Family Foraging Day - Mon 17th Aug, 10am-4pm

Our last activity day for the Summer is a family foraging day at Glencanisp with Ellie Mackay.

A fun family day exploring the grounds of Glencanisp to collect wild plants, cook them on a fire and get creative!

We'll search for edible wild foods and plants used for crafts, learning local botanical heritage, how to identify plants and forage sustainably. You’ll learn how to make a campfire and then cook the wild edibles. After lunch try your hand at weaving, dyeing and creating plant infusions from the various plants you gathered.

Mushroom Making and Family Day

Come along to the Art Studio at Glencanisp on Weds 15th July for some creative woodland themed family fun.

Wooden Tom is here making wooden mushrooms. Your chance to use some tools under his expert supervision and then paint your toadstool to look like one of our rainforest fungi.

You can also make your own green man forest mask with our ranger, Chris, using tree leaves and your imagination plus a bit of glue.

And have a go at our nature bingo on the nature trail and see if you can get a full house.

Tree of Life Walk, Thurs 9 July, 10am-12noon - join our ranger, Chris Goodman, on a gentle walk to Cnocnaneach to explore the wood wide web, mycorrhizal fungi, rainforest lichens and human culture.
