The Big House Multibank is deeply saddened by the passing of our treasured friend, David Rennie.

An integral part of our warehouse team since 2022, David’s drive and passion were central to the establishment and growth of the project. David was not only a colleague, but a valued friend to all of us at The Big House. His determination to help his community was a testament to his character, going above and beyond to drive change and help others.

His passing leaves a huge gap at The Big House. Our thoughts are with David’s family, and we remain committed to continuing the work he cared so deeply about.

Always in our hearts, and sorely missed.

We are hosting a Dundee Bairns Fundraising Brunch to help us kick-start our Festive Fundraising...

Did you know that Dundee Bairns typically spends around £35,000+ every festive season to support vulnerable families with access to basic food?
We receive referrals from every school in Dundee, and in 2024 we supported over 1,500 children in over 850 families with the most basic essentials which they were otherwise struggling to have.
Most people think of the festive season as a time of excess and plenty - we are there for those who struggle the most.

Please join us for a fun-filled brunch where we hope to fundraise to help us reach as many children and families as possible this Christmas. We promise lots of laughs, a lovely two-course meal, a drink on arrival and the best DJ Entertainment with some games and Bonkers Bingo, plus a chance to hear how Dundee Bairns supports local children all year round.

All funds raised stay in Dundee to support local children.
1 in 3 children live below the poverty line.
Can you help us to help Dundee's Bairns?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This afternoon we had the pleasure of welcoming the Right Honourable Gordon Brown and the Right Honourable Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education.

We are so grateful for their time spent with us, meeting our staff and families. Their visit was a wonderful opportunity to share the important work we do at The Cottage Family Centre to support children, young people, and families in our community.

We truly appreciate their interest in learning more about the challenges our families face and their encouragement for the continued efforts to create positive, lasting change 🥰

✨ Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Cottage Family Centre, together, we’re making a real difference in the lives of local families.❤️🙏

⭐️🎄⭐️Cottage Christmas planning⭐️🎄⭐️

Well it’s almost that time of year again when we will start the work behind the scenes for our 15th Cottage Christmas Appeal!!

Never in our wildest dreams would we have believed when we started this back in 2010 that 15 years later this would still be needed, never mind that so many families would have to continue living with such significant challenges.

Our Christmas Appeal is only possible because of the generosity of our community. It is their love and care for our children and families over the years that has made sure those in the greatest need have full bellies , warm homes and presents under the tree and it is because of their unwavering support and belief in us that we have continued to do our best year after year to meet demand for our services.

Behind the scenes , the appeals continued growth in need over the years has presented us with a number of challenges particularly as it has become more and more difficult to find premises large enough to support our sorting and packing as well as finding suppliers able to provide the volume of food we need especially fresh items at that time of year when they are already working to capacity.

And that’s not the only issue we have with this as we need to try and source fresh food which will have longevity to ensure it stays fresh over the Christmas period and crucially ensuring we continue to comply with food safety processes and health and safety guidelines.

Therefore this year , we are going to be making a couple of changes and the first will be as always to review our referral criteria and processes to make sure as always support is directed only to those who need it most. This will include reviewing our referring partners to ensure we are supporting families living in significant hardship.

To ease the pressure around fresh food supplies, reduce the need for a second premises, and help manage stress levels, we will provide each eligible family with a supermarket voucher. This will allow families to purchase fresh food themselves, take advantage of in-store promotions, and ensure the items chosen have the desired longevity—reducing unnecessary waste. The voucher provided will be redeemable for food items only.

Fresh food vouchers will be issued on or around 21st December 2025 and more details about this will be shared with those in receipt of this support nearer the time.

All non perishable food, toiletries etc will continue to be delivered alongside children’s gifts on delivery day which will take place this year on Tuesday 23rd December 2025.

Our search for volunteers for this year will begin soon , look out for that info on our page…..WE NEED YOU!!

And finally our Christmas Appeal 2025 starts on Monday 3rd November please, PLEASE support us in any way you can, whether that’s sharing our posts, telling your friends and family about the difference your making to a child’s life in our community or making a donation , LETS GET EVERYONE INVOLVED ❤️🎅🎄

You know this really wouldn’t happen without you🙏❤️🙌🥰
