Tanatside Hunt Pony Club The Tanatside Hunt Branch of the Pony Club was started in 1935 and covers a beautiful area of Powys

We have a thriving membership and offer a wide variety of activities throughout the year. We are very active members in Area 5 and members can regularly be seen travelling up the A5 and along the A*5 to Area competitions. Our record in Area Competitions is very successful and whether it is Winter League Show Jumping, Dressage, Games, Tetrathlon or Eventing, we are there flying the Tanatside flag. We try to provide plenty of activities for those members who are not so competitive and we also arrange trips and social gatherings. We have a very active Junior Committee, made up of older members who enjoy giving something back to the club. The Junior Committee concentrates on helping our younger members, new members and novice riders and the interaction between the older and younger members is extremely valuable. We welcome parental input and have a large committee to try to cover all aspects and levels of the club.

What a brilliant trip we all had to Horse of the Year Show. Some amazing jumping classes, great fun cheering for our neighbours, the Wynnstay in the Games, a wonderful display of trust and freedom with Santi Serracamp's liberty display, lots of lovely show horses and ponies and a fantastic display from the Welsh Pony and Cob Society to celebrate 125 years, and enough shopping til dropping. Plus an object lesson for all pony clubbers when we witnessed John Whitaker start his round in Speed Horse of the Year, only to eliminate himself immediately by starting with fence 9 instead of fence one. Even the best can mess up! A huge thank you to Lisa for her super oganisation, Catrin for producing some great info sheets for the children to tick off what they had done, and to all our parents for being great company all day. Might have to be an annual outing. 💜

A busy rally with Sally at Radfords, focusing on flatwork. Fourteen members worked on establishing seat, balance and use of aids. Some pictures of the last group. Lots of promise for upcoming dressage competitions.

We are looking for help manning our show jumping competition on Sat 7th Nov at Kelsall. We will have teams in all classes so its a great opportunity to come and support our nembers. We need stewards, tack checkers and arena party, who need to be 13 or over. We always struggle finding help for the early shifts! The day will start at 8.30/9am and be done around 6.30 (depending on entries). We are looking for volunteers who could do a couple of hours on our rota. There will be coffee and cake supplied! A trip to Kelsall is always fun ... a great cafe from where you can watch the action and a super tack store to stock up with lots of goodies. If you could help, please contact Kay Price who is putting the rota together. 🙏👍🤞💜
