Tanatside Hunt Pony Club

Tanatside Hunt Pony Club The Tanatside Hunt Branch of the Pony Club was started in 1935 and covers a beautiful area of Powys

We have a thriving membership and offer a wide variety of activities throughout the year. We are very active members in Area 5 and members can regularly be seen travelling up the A5 and along the A*5 to Area competitions. Our record in Area Competitions is very successful and whether it is Winter League Show Jumping, Dressage, Games, Tetrathlon or Eventing, we are there flying the Tanatside flag.

We try to provide plenty of activities for those members who are not so competitive and we also arrange trips and social gatherings. We have a very active Junior Committee, made up of older members who enjoy giving something back to the club. The Junior Committee concentrates on helping our younger members, new members and novice riders and the interaction between the older and younger members is extremely valuable. We welcome parental input and have a large committee to try to cover all aspects and levels of the club.

Fab rally for our younger members at the White House today. A bit scorchio but lots of drinks breaks and plenty of fun and games. Brilliant progress made and lovely to see children being so supportive and cheering each other. Making friends and having fun - what Pony Club is about. Thanks to Lisa and Sally for organising, Sue and Tash for coaching, Alison for looking after us and all the lovely supportive parents.

A cracking day at the Area SJ today! So many super performances. Our younger 70 team of Amelia, Arabella, Hettie and Evie came 6th and qualified for Regional Champs, with a dc for Amelia. In the 70+ Penny took 2nd place with a dc and also qualifies for Regional Champs. In the 80 the purple team of Penny, Nancy and Freya took 6th and qualified for Regionals, while Gold team Evie, Chloe and Saskia took 9th. Freya took 5th individually, alongside Saskia with a double clear, qualifying her too. Nancy also scored dc in this class. In the 90 we continued this fine form with the Purple team of Wilf, Maurice, Poppy and Mabel taking 3rd and qualifying for PC Champs, with dcs for Wilf and Maurice, while the Gold Team of Tristan, Chloe, Freya and Saskia took 7th place, with another dc from Sakia. A special well done to those that were doing their first area competition and those who are new combinations this season - so much promise for the future! The branch was also complimented on the members' smart turnout and politeness throughout the competition. A huge thanks to all the volunteers across the area who put in a long hot day to make it all happen.

A big shout out to Eve and Elin who had a super afternoon at Radfords Equestrian Dressage, competing in the Pick-a-Test Pony Club classes. Eve rode two super tests on Iggie, in the Foundation 70 and Grassroots 80, recording a win while Elin rode Toby to record another super score in the F70, all in the high 60s. Then Elin swapped onto Big Matt to ride the Intermediate 100 and the Open 110, both pretty technical tests, the highest level of difficulty in PC. She was delighted to achieve a 64% and 67% in them respectively. Such a great opportunity to have a trial run of the Area Qualifiers tests. Well done to our members who took part, and to the North Shropshire PC members who gave them a run for their money👏
