Over the past week, our campus has been buzzing as we welcomed staff, both returning faces and wonderful new additions, for a week of induction, connection and preparation.

Central to our time together has been building cynefin, a beautiful Welsh concept representing a deep sense of belonging. As our staff community grounds itself for the year ahead, we are ready to foster that same sense of home, purpose and belonging for our incoming students.

This past weekend, UWC Atlantic welcomed back the incredible Class of 1981 for their 45 year Reunion. It was an unforgettable weekend filled with endless laughter, lifelong connections and the shared values that tie our global community together.

The celebrations were made even more special as we honoured AC '81 alumna Jill Longson, who recently retired as Chair of the Board of Board having served her full six-year tenure. Thank you, Jill, for your extraordinary service, vision and deep commitment to the college.

To everyone who joined us back at the castle, thank you for bringing your warmth and energy home. Here’s to 45 years of impact and many more memories to come.

🌊 Coastal Adventures at St Donat’s! 🥾

Our Global Leadership Experience (GLE) participants enjoyed a fantastic day exploring the stunning coastline around Atlantic College, walking to the lighthouse in Nast Point! 🌿🌊

With the sea beside us and the Welsh coastline stretching ahead, the group took on a coastal walk to the lighthouse, filled with beautiful views, fresh air and plenty of opportunities to discover the landscape around the college.

The walk was a great chance to challenge ourselves, build resilience, work together and enjoy the outdoors — while making memories along the way. 💪😊

🏰 A new year at UWC Atlantic is almost here.

In just a few weeks, the St Donat's Castle will come alive again as we welcome new and returning students from around the world for another year of learning, adventure and community.

At UWC Atlantic, education goes far beyond the classroom. Students study for the IB Diploma and the Systems Transformation Pathway, but they also learn through nature, the ocean, outdoor education, community action, creativity and the everyday experience of living alongside people from different cultures and backgrounds.

It might mean studying in the Castle library in the morning, getting out on the water in the afternoon, working on the land, exploring the coast, taking on new challenges and working together to make a difference.

This is education with purpose, preparing young people not just for what comes next, but to help shape a better future.
