School streets in the Vale need your help! 🚸🚲

Vale of Glamorgan Council are consulting the public on their potential application to the Welsh Government for the powers to enforce Moving Traffic Offences.

If they proceed and their application is successful, it will mean the Council can enforce restrictions such as School Streets (including outside Fairfield Primary in Penarth) bus lanes and one-way streets.

This is especially critical after reports of a collision between a pupil and a motor vehicle last week at Fairfield. Without enforcement, our School Streets risk being less effective and losing the safe cycling environments they provide for our young people.

Have a couple of minutes spare before the New Year? Why not help us to make the Vale a better place to cycle by taking VoG Council’s Active Travel Network survey!

The survey is short and simple to complete and you can do it as many times as you wish, to show them where you want to see better bike infrastructure (or walking/wheeling improvements). The more people who do the survey, the more we can prove to the council that people in the Vale want to cycle more!
