This final lap completed 412 laps/309km/192 miles from Llanidloes to North Devon. The scouts and explorers choose to push hard through the ideal weather conditions of the night. So with the distance completed, a lack of sleep and severe weather arriving we have decided to call the challenge complete after 18 hours of hard walking. Well done team, you have really shown great resilience, determination, problem solving and focus. You were always supportive of each other and now deserve a well earned rest. 😃

And so it begins. At 18:00 we began our 24 hour walk in the hope of covering the distance between here and North Devon where our summer camp will take place next year. This is all in the hope of raising sponsorship to help cover the costs of going. We are a couple of hours in now with everything going well this far.

This year's district camp is going really well. The sun has been out all day 😃 The scouts have been learning about identifying different trees and how to manage a celtic rain forest. This afternoon they were whittling, fire lighting and cooking damper bread. The explorers have been whittling wooden knives, making a banquet table and gourmet toasties. This afternoon they learnt some first aid and completed scenarios. This evening we have made an hour glass tower and are currently cooking curry 🍛. More games and campfire to follow later.

Tonight the squirrels adventured into the forest on a forest scavenger hunt. We stopped half way for snacks and drinks. They did very well getting most ticked off the list, squirrel leaders were not keen on digging up the mud till we found a worm. We saw lots of squirrels though 😂.
We had lots of parents join us tonight and seemed to really enjoy it (I think more than the children)
Also tonight we had 2 Squirrels of the month, since they have started they have listened and followed instructions 1st time, been kind towards others. These 2 are just amazing. Well deserved to both of them.
