๐ Volunteers' Week 2026 ๐
Today we would like to celebrate three absolutely incredible women who help make LCDP the welcoming, community-focused place that it is.
โจ Glenda has been volunteering with LCDP for over four years and has become a familiar face to so many people. Every Thursday morning you will find her helping in the kitchen at Toddle Time, ensuring families receive a warm welcome and a cuppa. Glenda also lends a helping hand at our Craft & Cuppa and Knit & Stitch sessions, helping with refreshments and making sure everything is packed away at the end of the day. Glenda also helps in our EcoHub sharing her skills and knowledge with the team, and helps with the weeding and growing too. Whatever needs doing, Glenda is always there with a smile.
โจ Anne (also known as our Chief Chopper) has been an incredible support throughout the year. During the summer and over the winter months, Anne spent countless hours helping Sue and Jolene prepare vegetables for our Friday Community Dinners and Winter Warm Space sessions. Anne had also supported us this year with local litter picks in our Eco Hub and keeping our garden clean. Anne is also a regular attendee at many of our adult services and, in May, took on an even bigger role by becoming one of our Trustees. Her commitment to supporting her community is truly inspiring.
โจ Over the last year, Liz has supported both our Toddle Time sessions and the LCDP Explorers team. Behind the scenes, Liz has been a huge help with office administration, preparing resources, laminating, creating display boards and tackling all those jobs that keep everything running smoothly. Her willingness to help wherever needed is greatly appreciated by staff and volunteers alike.
