This time tomorrow, we will be celebrating our first birthday by showing ‘La La Land’! You are in for an action packed night, with pre-film entertainment from the talented Ben White, and a film that is stacked with great music and genius choreography we can guarantee you will be dancing all the way home!

We will roll out the red carpet and open up our doors at 6:45pm, with the film starting at 7:30, our bar will be open throughout the evening, stocked up with plenty of options, including alcohol and gluten free drinks!

To help us begin the celebrations for our one year anniversary screening of La La Land we are welcoming Coleg Cambria graduate Ben White to play some piano while you all come in, get your drinks, and take your seats.

Ben White is a young, local musician who has just completed a Level 3 Diploma in Music at Coleg Cambria; overcoming many obstacles and disabilities, and recently achieved a Student of the Year award for his dedication and passion in several community music projects, including creating and performing an original Welsh language composition at the National Eisteddfod.

Ben has been handpicked for us by his tutor and he is extremely excited to play for you all on Friday evening, so we would advise you to get there early to enjoy the entertainment!

It goes without saying that ‘La La Land’ was an absolute smash hit, grossing $504.6 million worldwide, and becoming Ryan Goslings second highest grossing film (surpassed by Barbie in 2023). On Rotten Tomatoes, the film earned itself a score of 91% with the critics consensus saying that “La La Land breathes new life into a bygone genre”.

Peter Bradshaw gave the movie a 5* review for The Guardian, describing it as “a film I couldn’t wait to watch again”. On the awards circuit, the film broke the record for most Golden Globe Awards won by a single film, as well as tying for the all time record (until last year) for the most Oscar nominations, taking home 6 of its 14 nominations, and making history when it was mistakenly announced as best picture for 2 minutes and 23 seconds.
