New Course! Aran Sweater Workshop 🪢🪡🌿

Join Gill Britten for a three-part workshop where you’ll learn the skills and techniques needed to embroider an Aran-style sweater using traditional stitching and felting techniques. This is a small, hands-on workshop with a maximum of 6 participants, giving you plenty of time to work with the tutor and develop your skills across the three sessions:

⏰ Saturday 3rd October, 10AM - 3PM
⏰ Saturday 10th October, 10AM - 3PM
⏰ Saturday 17th October, 10AM - 3PM
📍Gwlângollen, Masonic Hall, Hall St, Llangollen LL20 8EP, UK

Participants are asked to bring their own sweater to work on. For stitching, please bring 3-ply, 4-ply or DK yarn if you have it. If you don't have suitable yarn, we have a wide variety available for you to choose from.

Our brand new fully funded project is designed to help eligible Denbighshire residents learn heritage crafts and rural skills, build confidence, meet new people and explore future opportunities.

Whether you're looking to try something new or develop skills you already have, we'd love to welcome you!

📍 Come along to one of our Information Drop-In Sessions in Corwen on 9th July or Maeshafn on 16th July to find out more about the project, check your eligibility and discover the training opportunities available.

To be eligible, you must:
✅ Be aged 16 or over
✅ Have the legal right to live and work in the UK
✅ Live in Denbighshire
✅ Not currently be in work, full-time education or training

You must also meet at least one of the following:
🔹 Have a disability or health condition (including autism, ADHD, Asperger's, or other social and behavioural conditions)
🔹 Have childcare or other caring responsibilities
🔹 Be an asylum seeker or refugee
