🌿 REC Outdoor First Aid Course – Coed Llwynonn Forest 🌿
We’re excited to offer a 16-hour REC Outdoor First Aid course taking place in the beautiful natural setting of Coed Llwynonn forest.
📍 Location: Coed Llwynonn, Plas Llwynonn, LlanfairPG, Anglesey LL61 6DQ
This is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, delivered by our experienced and well-respected trainer, Jonathan Collins. The training will take place outdoors, giving you the opportunity to learn practical, real-life skills in the very environment where they are most needed. Shelters will be available if needed in case of rainy weather.
🌟 Flexible options – 1 day or 2 days
You can choose the option that works best for you:
✔ 2-day REC Outdoor First Aid qualification – £90 (was £156)
✔ 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (Saturday only) – £90 (was £100)
🌱 A community-led opportunity
As a community interest company, we are able to offer this training at a significantly reduced rate, made possible by sharing the cost as a group and contributing towards the trainer’s fee ourselves.
We are offering this opportunity for two key reasons:
- to ensure we have enough trained adults to safely support the children and families attending our wider activities and sessions
- to make this valuable qualification more accessible to others in our community, with added flexibility around children being present
-
The £90 rate is dependent on an attendance number of 12 participants.
In the unlikely event that we don’t reach sufficient numbers, we will contact you in advance and offer either a full refund or the option to move your place to a later date.
👣 Children & teenagers welcome
We understand that arranging childcare can be challenging, particularly within the home education community, so children are very welcome to attend.
We will have some simple woodland play resources available for children to dip into and enjoy throughout the day.
Children are also welcome to stay close to their parents and listen to parts of the training, if they feel interested and are able to do so in a way that doesn’t interrupt the flow of the session. Any child who is curious and feels ready is welcome to engage with the learning in this way.
Teenagers are also very welcome to attend:
Participants aged 16+ can complete the full course and gain the full recognised qualification.
Younger participants may also be able to achieve the full certificate, depending on engagement and ongoing assessment throughout the course
All paid participants will receive a certificate of attendance, regardless of assessment outcome.
Please note that this isn’t a staffed childcare provision, so parents remain responsible for their children at all times.
To receive full certification, participants will need to complete the full training hours needed for the chosen training option (1 day or 2 days). If you feel your child may need you to step away for extended periods, it may be worth considering whether this course is the right fit at this time.
That said, Jonathan is very understanding, and as parents ourselves we recognise that children sometimes need us unexpectedly. Where possible, we will allow for short pauses to ensure no one misses key parts of the training.
🔥 Food & shared space
We will share warm, nourishing meals together around the fire:
Day 1: Vegan & gluten-free campfire soup with sourdough bread
Day 2: Vegan & gluten-free campfire chilli
There will also be a campfire available throughout the day if you’d like to bring something to cook. Please bring your own snacks as needed.
🌿 Join us
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain a meaningful qualification in a supportive, nature-based setting, while connecting with others in the community.
Spaces are limited and dependent on numbers, so please get in touch if you’d like to join or find out more.
