RWF FEST 25

RWF FEST 25 marked a unique moment as the descendants of three Royal Welchmen, who fought together and survived the First World War, came together. One of them went on to serve in the Second World War.

Left to Right:

* Guy Holmes – Grandson of Pte Frank Richards, who, with the help of Robert Graves, wrote the classic soldier’s memoirs Old Soldiers Never Die and Old Soldier Sahib.
* Lesley Botten – Granddaughter of Lt Percy Moody, (later Lt Col) who served with both Richards and Graves in 2 RWF and is portrayed by Graves in Goodbye to All That. Moody later served with the RWF in the Second World War, training soldiers at Hightown Barracks (1940–41).
* William Graves – Son of Capt Robert Graves, literary giant of the twentieth century and proud Royal Welchman.
*
It was an honour to welcome the descendants of these courageous Royal Welchmen at RWF FEST 25!
