Not the best conditions for our final bank session of the year however, great to be out all the same. The fishing was hard as expected with only the roach and rudd showing. Many thanks to the team at Barton pond for providing the pegs and supporting us throughout the year.

Heroes on the Water UK are pleased to announce that we we will be attending the first major UK Kayak Fishing meet of the year, the SWKA’s Llangorse Lake event on 22nd March.

We will be selling HOW clothing if anyone would like to confirm stock/sizes prior to the event .

Our intention is to support clients at a number of the UKs big meets/competitions this year. This is in addition to our local kayak sessions throughout the year.

We have introduced to our program a number of bank and boat sessions to allow our clients the opportunity to gain fishing skills and experience prior to paddling out if required.

If you, your family or friends have suffered (physically or mentally) in public service and wish to partake in any sessions please contact us through this page or our website.

Any qualified Paddlesport leader kayakers willing to join our team please get in touch we have a number of regions seeking guides.

2 weeks ago Baz came out with us on Llangorse and caught his first ever fish . Today , with the rod he took home for fish of the day he visited a small pond near his home with his young son .

A long weekend on Llangorse lake in the Brecon Beacons . Friday Martin took Rhod out for the afternoon , the pair concentrating on dropshotting for Perch successfully with just over 20 fish caught including a couple of tiny pike . The next day the pair were joined by Baz and Andrew , with a huge thanks to volunteers Tim Sparrow who brought down an extra kayak and Ade Peacock who helped out on the water . Again plenty of perch and some roach were caught .
The evening was spent in the Castle Inn enjoying a few beers and an excellent meal . Sunday the group were joined by Will , the fishing being similar . The whole lake is rammed with juvenile Roach , the boat anglers also having little success with the good pike that reside in the waters

Never overlook how important small things are . This was the moment Baz caught his very first fish this Saturday and was swinging it into the kayak . As John Motson famously said when Francis Lee scored for Derby against Man City
