🌿 Carers Week 2026 – Building Carer Friendly Communities 💙

On Thursday Credu staff and carers from across Powys were delighted to be invited to a special National Garden Scheme event at the beautiful Garregllwyd Garden, Nantmel.

Despite the rain, carers enjoyed exploring the stunning gardens, sharing homemade cakes and taking some well-deserved time to relax, connect and recharge.

We were honoured to be invited by the National Garden Scheme and Carers Trust, with support from Dr Richard Claxton, Chief Executive of the National Garden Scheme, Susan Payton, Powys County Organiser, Brad Ewles, Nerys Sales, and Zoe Clutton, who helped organise the event but was unfortunately unable to join us on the day.

Dr Richard Claxton spoke about the many benefits of gardening and spending time in nature, including reducing stress, improving wellbeing and helping people feel more connected. It was a powerful reminder of how important green spaces can be for unpaid carers.

A special thank you to Steph and everyone at Garregllwyd Garden for inviting us and making us feel so welcome, and to the wonderful National Garden Scheme volunteers who looked after us so well throughout the afternoon.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the day so special. Together we are helping to build stronger, more connected and carer-friendly communities across Powys. 💙🌿

As part of for , we wanted to reshare this video filmed a few years ago in Powys.

We are so lucky to have fantastic support from local businesses and organisations across the areas of Wales that we cover. Young and Adult Carers can also access ID Cards in all these areas too.

If you'd like to start a conversation with us, which could be about anything from running an office fundraiser, to offering a small discount to unpaid carers holding an ID Card, we would love to hear from you.

All Young Carers (under 18) in Powys are eligible for a Young Carer...

11th June is - a day when we would like to recognise the importance of play for all young people, but especially for Young Carers, who may lose out on opportunities for play in comparison to their peers.

Research has shown that play in childhood is vital and we are lucky to be able to offer some opportunities for play for Young Carers across the areas that we cover 🤹🏿‍♂️

Money Matters đź’·

Money worries are a major pressure for unpaid carers. Caring
can affect income, work, energy costs and everyday living — and
too often, carers miss out on support because it’s hard to find or
understand.

That’s where Meera, Bridgit’s AI coach, can help. Available 24/7,
Meera supports carers to:

Ask questions in plain language
Find relevant support quickly
Break complex topics into simple, practical next steps
Meera supports — not replaces — local Money Matters services.

Together, Carers Trust and Bridgit are helping carers feel more
informed, supported and confident with money.

MEERA IS NOW AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITES:
