New research from Hungary reveals how climate change is affecting interactions between Barn Owls and Tawny Owls at their nest sites. With Barn Owls breeding earlier as conditions get warmer, the two owl species are more likely to coincide in their breeding, with negative impacts for Barn Owls 🦉👇

🥚 first egg laid on Easter Sunday and 7 more at 2 day intervals. So far 7 have hatched and oldest is 2 weeks old tonight. Parents have their work cut out feeding them all 🦉

Lack of food due to intensive farming, the loss of roost and nest sites, road mortality and rat poison have all put the future of the Barn Owl in jeopardy.
