Spark is a community charity based in West Lothian that provides social and volunteering opportunities with the aim of reducing social isolation and loneliness in the community. Groups include Pins and Needles, Craft Groups, Men's Group, Carpet Bowls, Gentle Exercise, Book Group, "Friendly Forces" Veteran Group, Sewing and Jewellery Making Classes and Singing For Health. We organise a number of t

rips and community events and operate a "Spark Creations" shop which sells handcrafted items made by volunteers and donated goods.

Join us at Rowan Grove Garden, Craigshill (EH54 5JA) for a magical afternoon with author Lauren Kyle, who will be reading from her very own book, Orla the Fairy’s Twist of Fate! 📖🧚‍♀️✨

Come along and hear the enchanting story of Orla, the fairy, as Lauren brings her magical world to life with a special storytime adventure. 🌿✨

We’re looking to source a pressure washer with a bowser tank for 24-hour hire to support a volunteer clean-up at the front of Spark.

If a local company could donate the equipment or offer us a discounted charity rate, it would make a huge difference and we’d be incredibly grateful. 💙

A team of volunteers from a local business are giving up their time to get stuck in and transform the area, helping to create a cleaner, brighter and more welcoming space for everyone. 🧹✨

🎒📚 Great to visit Spark in Craigshill on Friday and see local children benefiting from Sky's Back-to-School pack initiative.

As a Sky Up Hub, SPARK continues to make a real difference by tackling digital poverty, supporting employability, and creating opportunities for local people.

It is wonderful to see the positive impact that the partnership between SPARK and Sky continues to have on local children, families, and the wider community. Initiatives such as the Back-to-School packs help ensure that young people have the resources and support they need as they prepare for the new school year.

I was delighted to meet some of the young people who will benefit from this initiative and see first-hand the difference it will make.

My sincere thanks to Sky for their generous donation and to everyone at SPARK and the wider community who helped make this initiative such a success.

This support complements the wider assistance available to families through measures such as the Scottish Child Payment, free school meals and School Clothing Grants, helping to ensure that every child has access to the essentials they need to participate fully in school."
