I am deeply honoured to have received the Inspiring Diversity in STEM Award this week at the SAMEE (Scottish Association on Minority Ethnic Educators)
This recognition means a great deal to me, but for me, this award is not really about me. It is about the young people.
It is about the young people we have invested our time, energy and passion in. Young people discovering their talents, building confidence and achieving things they may never have believed possible.
It is about the many talented young people we have supported and inspired.
It is about our amazing volunteers, who bring their experience, knowledge and ambition to developing young people.
It is about the parents who trusted us with their children.
And it is about the organisations and partners who trusted us to work together in a meaningful way, partnerships based on genuine impact.
Thank you to SAMEE for recognising our work and our commitment to inspiring diversity in STEM.
This award motivates us to keep going.
