Women’s Autism/ADHD Group 💛

This week marked the first session of our second Women’s Autism/ADHD Group at Craigsfarm, and it was a powerful reminder of why these spaces matter.

The group was created to support late-diagnosed women, many of whom have spent years feeling unheard, unseen, or misunderstood.

Several women arrived feeling understandably nervous about walking into a new space and meeting new people.

But by the end of the session, the atmosphere had completely shifted.
There was a connection. Understanding. Relief.

Words shared afterwards included:
“Hopeful.”
“Welcome (for once).”
“Such a welcoming environment and great people.”

Moments like these remind us why these spaces matter so much.

The response has been overwhelming, and we now have a waiting list for future Women’s groups. We’re committed to running more sessions as soon as funding allows.

Our Men’s Autism/ADHD Group is also running and continues to offer a supportive, open space for men to share experiences and encourage one another, and there are still spaces available.

If you would like to:
* Join the Women’s waiting list
* Attend the Men’s Group
* Or support this work through funding

Please email [email protected]

Creating spaces where people feel understood shouldn’t be rare, and we’re proud to keep building them 💚

Our Story

Craigsfarm Community Hub is run by a small charity called Craigsfarm Community Development Project (CFCDP). We have been committed to supporting the local community on the same site in Craigshill, Livingston for over 45 years! Known originally as Craigsfarm Campus, our site was home to some the oldest buildings in Livingston. Here, projects were run by the community, for the community and supported by West Lothian Council. Over the years a lot of love has gone into Craigsfarm and hundreds of people have benefited. In 2016 the premises were transferred from the local council into community ownership, one of the first transfers in Scotland under the new Community Empowerment Act. However, the old buildings were expensive to run and not accessible to everyone. With the generous support of West Lothian Council, the Big Lottery and other funders, in Spring 2018 we opened the new Craigsfarm Community Hub. A brand new flexible space for everyone, where we can host an even bigger variety of activities, welcome people for a cuppa or a bite to eat in our cafe, and help support the social, economic and physical wellbeing of our local community.
