The School Bank West Lothian Improving lives by proving school uniform, jackets and footwear packs to young people from families experiencing financial hardship. Thank you for your support.

Our service supports inclusion, equity and school attendance, as well as improving mental health and well-being. The aim of the The School Bank West Lothian is to improve lives by proving school uniform, jackets, and footwear packs to young people from families experiencing financial hardship. Our service supports inclusion, equity, and school attendance, as well as improving mental health and wel

l-being. We supply brand-new school uniform, warm jackets, PE kit, shoes, trainers and other equipment required for the school day, such as underwear, school bags, stationery. We top up our packs with good quality second-hand items. Accessing our service:
- We operate on a referral basis.
- Any organisation working directly with families can make a referral request. We are currently working in partnership with Schools, The Advice Shop, Health Visitors, Home-Start, Carers of West Lothian, Women's Aid etc but welcome other agencies to contact us. Donations:
- We are very grateful for donations (aged 5 to 18 years old) of new uniform, jackets, footwear, school bags etc. We regularly publish a "list of most needed" items on our social media pages.
- School badged uniform should be re-cycled back to the specific school.
- We have a number of red collection bins in the community including Supermarkets and community buildings such as Bathgate Partnership Centres and Craigsfarm. Please PM the page or email us at [email protected].

Local Business, Lasting Impact 🎒

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the owners of EwartPark Estate Agents (based in Bathgate) for once again stepping up to support of our work and their generous contribution to our Back to School Campaign.

They kindly donated a fantastic range of much needed essentials, including white polo shirts, socks and water bottles. These everyday items can make a world of difference, helping children across West Lothian start the new school year feeling prepared, confident and ready to learn.

A special thank you to Shay and Ailish, who delivered the donations on behalf of the business. Abbie, our Project Worker, was delighted to meet them and share a little more about how their kindness will help local children and young people as they head back to school.

It is wonderful to see local businesses supporting their local community. Partnerships like these help ensure that every child has the opportunity to begin the school year with confidence - thank you for being part of the difference.

📻From Community Fun Day to Community Impact 📻

We would like to say a big thank you to the Livingston And District Amateur Radio Society and Broxburn Scouts for organising a fantastic community fun day in July to raise funds in support of our charity. We were delighted to receive a generous donation of £300, presented by Philip to Roz (our Project Worker).

Their kindness and determination to make a difference will help us continue providing essential support to children and families across West Lothian.

💙 Inspired to Make a Difference 💙

We were delighted to receive an incredible donation of back-to-school essentials from the Sunday Bingo Ladies at the Stirrup Stane and members of SSVP.

After reading about our work in the Konect Magazines, they decided to take action and help ensure local children have the items they need for the school year ahead. Thanks to their generosity, children across West Lothian will benefit from a wide range of essential items, from school uniform and stationery to toiletries and everyday school essentials.

It is always heartening to see people respond so positively when they learn about the challenges some families face and choose to be part of the solution.

We are incredibly grateful to Diane and everyone at St Philip's in Livingston who came together to support local families as children prepare to head back to school.

We're so grateful to the wonderful staff at St John's Maternity Unit for supporting our Fill a Bag Campaign.

The team collected a fantastic range of items including hygiene products, stationery, socks and other essentials for both primary-aged pupils and teenagers. These practical donations will make a real difference to young people as they prepare for the new school term.

From Uniforms to Funding: Burness Paull Goes Above and Beyond! 💫

We're sending a huge thank you to Burness Paull office staff in Edinburgh and their Foundation for their amazing support.

Their team recently organised a school appeal across their offices, with staff donating a wonderful range of items including water bottles, stationery and school uniform essentials such as polo shirts. Abbie, our Project Worker, was delighted to receive these items and have a photo with one of the young people delivering them.

As if that wasn't enough, their Foundation also made an incredibly generous £1,000 donation. This funding will help us purchase key essential items to ensure every uniform pack we provide contains everything a child needs to start school with confidence.

The support shown by everyone involved has been truly fantastic. Thank you for helping local children and families get ready for the new school year. 🌟

Supporting local children couldn't have been easier!

A huge thank you to SSVP Linlithgow for their incredible support of School Bank West Lothian. When David from SSVP got in touch and asked what we really needed, we simply sent over links to the essential items our children and young people require most. Before long, orders for joggers, hoodies, polo shirts and socks had been placed and delivered directly to us - ready to be distributed to local families preparing for the new school year.

This kind of support makes a real difference. Not only does it ensure children can return to school feeling comfortable, confident and included, but it also shows the power of local organisations coming together to support their community.

David shared: "SSVP Linlithgow are delighted to be in a position to support the School Bank again as the work they do is hugely important in ensuring all children can attend school suitably kitted out and ready for the coming school year. Once again the School Bank team were a pleasure to work with and made the process from start to finish extremely efficient and easy. THANK YOU!"
