🌟 From Donation Bag to School Pack: The Journey You Don’t See

Behind every clothing pack we provide is a huge amount of work that often goes unseen and our corporate volunteers are an important part of making it happen.

By stepping away from their usual working day and giving their time to help, they make a real difference to what we can achieve. A big thank you to Jo, Mary and Kevin from Sky4 in Livingston. πŸ’™

Our slideshow offers a glimpse behind the scenes, following donations from the bags they arrive in to the carefully prepared items that become part of our school uniform packs.

To every corporate volunteer who gives their time, thank you. The impact of your day with us reaches much further than you might realise.

πŸŽ…The Christmas Swap ChallengeπŸŽ…

Could your workplace, school, community group or family join the challenge and help keep children warm this winter? This festive season, we're inviting our supporters to make one simple swap:

πŸŽ… Secret Santa -Instead of buying Secret Santa gifts, donate a black hoodie/zipper or black joggers/leggings. For many children, these items can mean the difference between joining in with outdoor PE lessons or sitting on the sidelines, feeling cold and left out.

πŸ’Œ Christmas Cards - Instead of sending Christmas cards, donate everyday essentials such as tights, socks or cosy socks. These simple items are often the first things to wear out and can make all the difference to a child's comfort and confidence over the winter.

β˜• Festive Treats - Instead of buying that gingerbread latte, make a donation towards one of our winter packs. Your gift could help a child face the cold weather with warmth and the chance to focus on learning. Donations can be made here: https://rb.gy/mfj4tc

πŸ’œ These small swaps help us provide practical support to local children and families, ensuring more children stay warm, comfortable and ready to learn throughout the winter.

❄️ Fill-A-Bag, Pack A Little Warmth! ❄️

This winter, we're asking our amazing community to help us provide young people across West Lothian with the everyday essentials. While jackets are often get the most attention, items like socks, tights, hoodies and joggers are the essentials children wear every day. These practical basics help keep young people warm, comfortable and ready for school, activities and time outdoors throughout winter.

πŸ›οΈ Pick up a bag for life and fill it with:

1. Socks (black, grey or white, infant 9 to adult 12, no knee highs)
2. Tights (black or grey for primary children, black 15 denier for teenagers)
3. Hoodie/zipper or and joggers/leggings (black, age 5 to 17 years)
✨ If you'd like to add a little extra warmth, we'd also love donations of gloves and cosy socks.

Your donations will be included in our Winter Clothing Packs, helping children and young people stay warm, comfortable and confident during the coldest months of the year.

Challenge Poverty Week - Tackling Child Poverty

For many children, school camp is far more than a few days away from home. It's a chance to build confidence, develop independence, strengthen friendships and create lifelong memories.

But for some families, the cost of camp, along with the additional clothing and footwear required, can put these experiences out of reach. Some children may even attend without the kit they need, leaving them feeling self-conscious and unable to fully take part.

Through referrals from West Lothian schools, our School Camp Packs, we're helping remove barriers to participation, ensuring children can attend camp feeling prepared, included and confident, ready to make the most of this important milestone in their school journey.

Because no child should miss out on life-changing experiences simply because they don't have the right kit.

Challenge Poverty Week - Tackling Child Poverty

The early years are a crucial stage in a child's development, helping to build confidence, curiosity, social skills and a love of learning. Outdoor play is an important part of this journey. Without appropriate clothing and footwear, some children can miss out on valuable opportunities to learn, play and explore.

Through referrals from West Lothian's state nurseries, our Preschool Packs, we're helping children participate fully, whatever the weather, ensuring they can benefit from every learning opportunity during these important early years.

Because every child deserves the best possible start in life.
