1st Livingston Girls' Brigade

1st Livingston Girls' Brigade Company meets in Lanthorn Community Centre, Dedridge on Wednesdays. All girls welcome, from P1 right up to S6.

Advantages for girls and young women
A fun place to meet and make new friends -
It is key aspect of the organisation that members should have fun and enjoy The GB Journey regardless of their age. Girls' Brigade is able to offer a place to chat to other girls, Socialise in a safe environment and play together. A safe, caring and non-threatening environment - The GB offers Christian teaching and fe

llowship in an all-female environment, removing the pressure often felt at school (especially felt by older girls) of male peers. This allows girls a greater freedom to express themselves and discuss issues relevant to them with their peers and their leaders. Personal development -
Girls' Brigade offers girls challenging activities and new opportunities ,i.e. fun days, competitions, outings, trips, camps, leadership training, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Queen's Award - encouraging both individual effort and team working to promote self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-respect. The chance to "be part of something big" -
The Girls' Brigade is a worldwide organisation, where girls are encouraged to participate at all levels, locally, nationally and even internationally.

On Monday evening, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a very special milestone—four of our leaders were commissioned as officers within 1st Livingston Girls' Brigade.

It was a proud and memorable moment for everyone in the company, and we couldn’t be more delighted to see you step into these new roles. Wishing you all the very best as you begin this exciting chapter as officers.

Happy Mother's Day to all the fabulous women who are Mum's to our girls and to all our Leaders in Girls' Brigade Scotland who are Mum's themselves. Let's also say thank you to those who may not be biological Mum's but who take on that special role in a variety of ways. We also remember all the Mum's and special women in our lives who are no longer with us and give thanks for how they shaped our lives. Have a great day!
