We’ve been featured in The Herald following confirmation that a new licence application has been submitted for the 2026 guga hunt.

As OneKind CEO Jason Rose said, this practice “causes fear, suffering and panic” for vulnerable young birds—and the disruption affects entire colonies, not just the chicks themselves.

“Scotland should be moving forward in how we treat our wild animals, not continuing outdated practices that cause animal suffering.”

We’ll continue to make the case for change and urge decision-makers to reject this application.

It is not too late to prevent unnecessary suffering.

Pigs are being gassed with CO₂. And they're suffering severely.

CO₂ gas dissolves in the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, mouth and lungs, forming acid. This is likely to be extremely painful for the pigs.

Inhalation of the gas also leads to pigs feeling they cannot breathe, which experts say causes anxiety, frustration, fear and panic.

We won’t give up pushing for an end to this extremely cruel practice.
