Let’s be honest, if you waited for a dry day in Scotland to leave the house, you’d never leave the house. That’s why at Almond Valley, we’ve made sure rain has absolutely no say in your plans.
Whether the sun’s splitting the sky or it’s doing that classic Scottish drizzle, there’s a full day of adventure waiting for you, and a surprisingly large chunk of it is firmly under cover. 🙌
Here’s what the clouds can’t touch:
🏭 The Paraffin Works, our beloved covered play area where kids can run wild, climb, and burn off enough energy to sleep past 6am. You’re welcome.
🏛 The Shale Oil Museum, did you know Scotland’s shale oil industry actually pre-dates the North Sea oil boom? Wander through fascinating interactive displays celebrating West Lothian’s pioneering industrial history. Genuinely interesting stuff (we’re not just saying that).
⚙️ The Historic Mill, step inside the beautifully restored Livingston Mill. It’s been grinding away here for centuries and frankly it’s in better shape than most of us.
🦙The Animal Sheds, meet the residents! Our friendly rare breed farm animals are cosy, sheltered, and very happy to say hello.
And when the legs get tired and the weans get hungry, warm up with a hot drink and homemade food in our family café, where the little ones can keep the fun going in our indoor soft play area while you actually finish a hot drink. Wild concept, we know.
