Almond Valley’s ‘Spooktober’ is running from 12–25 October.

Adult tickets from £13.50 and children’s tickets from £11.50.

A little kindness makes a big difference!

We’re celebrating World Animal Week, a lovely reminder that every animal deserves care, patience and kindness.

Our animal residents have their own personalities, preferences and needs. Here are four fantastical facts about some of the animals you can meet here…

🐐 Goats can see a smile from a mile!
Researchers found that goats preferred happy human faces to angry ones. A great reminder that the way we approach animals matters, gentle voices and calm movements help make meeting us a positive experience.

🐑 Sheep can recognise familiar faces!
Scientists (not us) found that sheep could recognise a photograph of their handler without being trained to do so.

🐹 Guinea pigs need friends too!
These little animals are naturally sociable and need the company of other friendly guinea pigs.

🌱 Heritage breeds can help the land!
With carefully managed grazing, native animals can help maintain habitats where plants, insects, birds and other wildlife thrive.

Being kind to animals starts with little things like moving gently, giving space and letting the animal choose to come closer.

We’ve had such a positive response to our community offer! It’s a little thing that we hope will go a long way towards making those precious after-school hours count.

We’ve had a few questions, so we thought we’d save our lovely front-of-house team some time and answer the popular ones here!

🚜 Can we use the offer earlier in the day?

Afraid not! Our £3 child and £1 grown-up tickets are available Monday–Friday from 2:30pm–5pm. It’s all about squeezing a little more adventure into those after-school hours!

🚜 Can grown-ups come in for £1 without a child?

Nice try! 😉 If you fancy popping in for £1, you’ll need a wee one in tow. This one’s for the little ones!

🚜 Does the offer run during October half-term?

The offer takes a break from October 12–26 while Spooktober takes over Almond Valley! 🎃

But fear not… we’ve got a frightfully fabulous half-term programme planned, filled right to the brim of your trick-or-treat bucket with family fun! Halloween installations, a spooky trail, creepy crafts and plenty more await for a whole day of autumn adventure! 👻

The days are getting shorter, but the adventures don’t have to stop! 🏰

From October 1 to November 30, we’re making weekday afternoons at Almond Valley a little more affordable, giving you even more opportunities to enjoy some after-school fun!

Children: Just £3
Grown-ups: Just £1

That’s just £8 for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children)!

Monday–Friday | 2:30pm–5pm
Proof of address required 🙏

Come straight from school, grab your wellies and wrap up warm for an afternoon of running, climbing, exploring and making memories!

And don’t let the autumn weather put you off! From our sheltered Paraffin Works play park and Bones and Stones, where little explorers can unearth archaeological treasures, to meeting our animals in Wings and Whiskers and the animal barns, there’s plenty to discover. With lots of interactive museum spaces to explore too, the adventures can continue whatever the weather! 🌦️
