A final, fond farewell to all of the families, professionals and supporters who have made working for Signpost such a rewarding experience over the last 23 years. It has been such a pleasure to work with you, and to watch your children grow up.

Don't forget our website will still be there for you (www.signpost-online.co.uk) for at least the next two years, and Carers of West Lothian, Listen and Link and many others are also there for you if you need support. The website isn't quite finished yet, but in the next week or so it will have a wealth of helpful information on all the key topics we are asked about - and some extra!

Take care of yourselves,

Best wishes from all of the Signpost team.

Shared on behalf of West Lothian Council:

'Go Wild Warriors' are running Forest School and Outdoor Learning sessions for children, on Fridays and Saturdays in Beecraigs Country Park. The sessions are suitable for a variety of different ages, with some including opportunities for adults to 'stay and play'.
Activities include outdoor crafts, fire building, den building, using small tools, story telling, and learning about different plants and animals. The sessions are designed to help children develop life skills and build confidence and self esteem within a natural environment.
To find out more and to book on to sessions, please see the Go Wild Warriors page: https://www.facebook.com/Forestschooll71 and their booking page https://bookwhen.com/gowildwarriors...
Go Wild Warriors will also be running an 'easter extravaganza' session on behalf of the Ranger Service on Sunday 9th April in Beecraigs Country Park. Details for this session can be found on the booking page listed above.

FAMILY PASSES
We are delighted to announce that our remaining family passes for local attractions have now been passed over to Carers of West Lothian, so if you were previously registered with Signpost you can now speak to them and book a pass. However, please note that most of our passes expire before the summer holidays.

We are grateful to our partners for enabling the transfer and use of the passes for the remaining time.

Anyone who has booked a trip that takes place BEFORE 31 March 2023 can still use the Signpost booking site, or the ‘e-ticket’ they received when they booked with us. Anyone booking a trip that takes place AFTER 31 March 2023 must request a booking with Carers of West Lothian and register with them.

SIGNPOST CLOSURE

We are sad to announce that the trustees of Signpost have reluctantly decided that Signpost will close on 31 March 2023. In common with many small charities in the last few years, we have struggled to navigate the many changes which have taken place since the pandemic began, including the current funding situation.

We recognise that many families who have been helped by Signpost may be worried and upset by this news. We are doing our best to ensure that support will continue to be available through partner agencies after March 2023.

Signpost is also developing a new website to preserve our knowledge and make it accessible to everyone for the next 2 years after we close. We will add further information here on Facebook and via our newsletter as our plans progress, so please add [email protected] to your email ‘safe’ list to ensure you keep up to date. There is also a Questions and Answers page on our website: https://www.signpost-online.co.uk

If you contact us in the next few weeks, please be patient with us if there is a delay in our reply, as we expect to be very busy.

The past 22 years have shown Signpost the tremendous resilience of families whose children have additional support needs and we are proud to have helped so many of you to achieve the best life possible for your children and yourselves. We are proud to have been able to play a part in building a brighter future for children with additional support needs in West Lothian.

We would like to offer heart-felt thanks to all the staff, trustees, supporters and other organisations who have contributed to our success over the last 22 years.

If you have any questions about this announcement, please email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
