We’re getting closer to the business end of our scriptwriting workshop block! 🎬✍🏻🔥

Today was all about scene by scenes, but before we got there, we stripped everything back to basics. We revisited our characters, our story, our theme and our purpose to make sure we all understood exactly what we were trying to create 🎭📝

We also created our logline, and once we had that in place, it became our compass. It helped us stay focused and ensured we didn’t drift away from the story we collectively want to tell 🧭💡

From there, we rolled up our sleeves and built the scene by scene together. It was collaborative, energetic and, at times, challenging. That’s to be expected when you have 17 writers in one room, all bringing ideas, passion and creativity to the table 🤝⚡

We were never going to land on one person’s vision. The goal was always to build a shared vision. That meant making difficult decisions, cutting some ideas, keeping others, and constantly asking ourselves what best serves the story 🎬✨

When you stop and think about it, we’ve only had a total of eight hours together. In that time we’ve gone from a blank page to having a genre, a theme, a logline, protagonist, antagonist, supporting characters, key story beats, and now a complete scene by scene roadmap for our script 🚀📚

We also spent some time looking at the fundamentals of scriptwriting itself, from slug lines and action lines to dialogue, beats, parentheticals, and even the importance of a strong title page 🎞️🖋️

Next week is where the magic really happens ✨

Next week we begin writing the script itself. Our roadmap will guide us as we bring the story to life through action, dialogue and character. This is where everything we’ve built together starts to take shape on the page and the story comes alive 🎭📖

Super proud of everyone’s efforts so far. The energy, commitment, humility and teamwork have been outstanding. We’re on the final stretch now, and we’re excited to create a script that we can all be proud of ❤️👏🏻
