You can apply for Funeral Support Payment if you live in Scotland. The person who died can have lived anywhere in the UK.

To be eligible for the payment, you or your partner must be:
โ€ข responsible for paying for the funeral
โ€ข the closest living relative or be able to show that it's reasonable for you to pay for the funeral
โ€ข getting certain benefits
โ€ข within the time limit to apply.

The Job Start Payment is a one-off Scottish social security grant providing ยฃ331.95 (or ยฃ531.10 if you have a child) to help cover transition costs into new employment

You can get Job Start Payment if:
you're 16 to 24 years old
been out of paid work & getting certain benefits
been offered paid work that is at least 12 hours a week
you live in Scotland.

You can apply for a Job Start Payment from the date you are offered the job until 6 months afterwards.
