IM Marsh Capoeira

IM Marsh Capoeira Capoeira: A dance infused martial art from Brazil. This page is for our new IM Marsh classes.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form, a beautiful blend of martial arts, dance, acrobatics, music and play. Capoeira began in 1500’s following the enslavement of Africans by Portuguese migrants inhabiting Brazil. In a bid to unite the individuals, cultures and beliefs from the different African countries oppressed by the Portuguese in Brazil, Capoeira was created. Capoeira attracts all kinds

of people from many different backgrounds and age groups, some have never tried anything like it before whilst other students have backgrounds in dance, martial arts, acrobatics and many others. Though knowledge of movement and music can be an advantage, no previous experience in any of these is necessary to begin training.
