Knowsley Parent Carers Voice Together we can make a difference KPCV is a group of parents and carers of children with special education needs and disabilities from Knowsley.

Our children are of various ages ranging from 0-25. Our aim is to work in partnership with Education, Social Care and Health and Wellbeing services to influence and develop quality services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities in Knowsley. Purpose of the Knowsley Parent Carers Voice
• Membership is open to all parent carers of children and young people aged

0-25 yrs. with special educational needs or disabilities
• We meet to talk about issues that affect us, our children, and our families
• We share information and experiences between professionals and parents directly
• We liaise and meet with Council officials and Health Service Providers with a view to helping them improve, we are the experts, and we need to help them understand
• We consult on changes that affect the parent carers and the children with special educational needs or disabilities

🗓️ The next SEND (Special Educational Needs and / or Disabilities) Local Offer Live event will take place on Friday 22 May 2026 from 9.30am until 3pm at Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park, Longview Drive, Huyton.

📢 The event includes representatives from Council services that are providing SEND provision in the borough, including Educational Psychology service, Hearing and Vision Specialist Service and the Autism Advisory Team as well as partner agencies who provide specialist help and support including Advanced Solutions, along with representatives from Health and Social Care.

✅ Anyone is encouraged to come along to find out more about all the support that is available to children with SEND in Knowsley. No booking or appointment is needed – just pop in any time between 9.30am and 3pm on the day.

Hi, my name is Emma and I am PhD student based in the University of Liverpool. I am looking to explore parent experiences of dental care access for children with neurodisabilities. I will be hosting several focus groups across Merseyside for parents to join to discuss their experiences and you will receive a £20 Amazon voucher as a thanks for your time. Sessions will take place across Merseyside in Jan-Feb with a virtual session on 26th Feb 6:30-8pm if you are unable to attend in person. As part of the Beyond Programme’s Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health Workstream, we are developing best-practice guidance and actionable advice for parents and carers on safe, healthy use of screens and social media by children and young people..
To inform this work, we’ve created a survey to find out more about the challenges parents/carers experience when managing their children’s screen and social media use. If you’re a parent or carer yourself, we would be most grateful if you could complete the survey and share your experiences and insights with us. We’d also appreciate if you could share the survey with other parents and carers so that we can get as many responses as possible.
