I just wanted to take this opportunity to send a message to all of our volunteers in Merseyside expressing my ongoing thanks and appreciation for everything that you do and everything that you continue to do on behalf of St John Ambulance in Merseyside.

Your commitment to the St John cause is truly amazing and to put it simply, we could not do what we do without the incredible support of our volunteers. Often the praise will go to our operational and youth teams but every single person involved in all aspects of St John life deserve a huge thank you for your time, commitment, actions and activity.

All of our volunteer teams have their part to play, including our fellowship, networks, youth, support, leadership, training, recruitment, communications, priory, fundraising and anyone and everyone involved in making this a brilliant place to be.

I cannot express enough how proud I am to be allowed to lead such a talented and incredibly passionate group of people - your unwavering support of our strategy and HEART values is second to none and I truly believe that Merseyside is one of the best places to volunteer in the UK.

We have done lots of amazing things in Merseyside and I sincerely hope that we continue to do so over the coming months and years.

A couple of weeks ago I spent a morning at Liverpool HQ trying to explain to the Liverpool Echo team how amazing our volunteers are/were this time 12 months ago. Not sure it came across as passionately as I intended but the sentiment was absolutely there😊. Amazing people doing amazing things. This is the short film they produced about that day.

Some of Liverpool city centres badgers and cadets have been working really hard today at HQ to plant some vegetables as part of scientific badger 🥕🥒🌰🧅🥗🥬🪏

Hopefully come August/September we will have ready some carrots, onions, sweetcorn, cucumbers and lettuce 🤤

Badgers will be taking care of their vegetable patches over the next coming months with the help of some of our cadets 🫶

Such a fun day for our young people AND our adults 😅

PS...if anyone visiting HQ any time soon has some old pallets to get rid of, we'd be most grateful if we could use them to build some proper borders 😁
