Walton Youth & Community Project (WYCP) is an award-winning youth & community charity that provides positive activities and educational opportunities

Walton Youth & Community Project (WYCP) provides positive activities and educational opportunities for children, young people and families in Walton, north Liverpool. We have expertise in setting up and managing innovative projects working in partnership with other agencies. Our ‘grassroots’ approach is our strength: our services are user-led giving people a stake in planning and implementing serv

ices. We are open five days a week and offer our services over evenings, nights, and weekends. We offer:
A youth Club offering young people a safe place to become empowered, learn new skills and become active. Detached Youth Work engaging socially excluded young people on their own territory, offering positive activities and developmental group-work. Volunteering Project promoting volunteering and peer mentoring projects delivered by young people, for young people. Negotiated Education Programme providing socially and educationally excluded young people with opportunities to get back into learning and gain qualifications. Provision of food distribution through Fareshare for those in our local community.

Great week had at with our young people, and young people from 🌾😁

Young people learnt all about life on the farm and got a whole load of new experiences and knowledge!

🌍⚽ World Cup Vibes at WYCP! 🇦🇷🇦🇹
Tonight our young people travelled the world without leaving Walton as we celebrated Argentina vs Austria through food, culture and football!
On the menu: 🥐 Viennese swirls & apple strudel (Austria) 🍎 🥨 Pretzels & crackers 🌶️ Chorizo & caramel treats (Argentina-inspired twists!) 🍪 Shortbreads for everyone to share
It’s been amazing to see young people exploring different cultures, trying new foods, and connecting through the spirit of the World Cup 🌎✨
This is what youth work is all about – creating opportunities, building confidence, and opening minds to the wider world.
⚽ Next up: England game! We’ll be taking a group along to to enjoy the match together, keeping the energy going and giving young people even more opportunities to connect, belong and have fun 🇬🇧🙌

We’re using the World Cup to bring young people together through football, food, and culture 🙌
Tonight’s game: Spain vs Cape Verde live on the big screen ⚽🔥
🍽️ Young people are exploring global flavours with: 🌮 Salsa & tortillas 🧀 Spanish cheese, chorizo & crackers 🍉 Fresh fruit including watermelon, mango & pineapple
🎨 They’ve also been getting creative by making flags from different countries—celebrating diversity and learning about the world through football 🌍
This is what youth work is all about: creating safe spaces, building connections, and giving young people new experiences ❤️

💙 Our Children & Community Deserve Safety, Fun, and Support 💙
🎉 BOUNCE HOUSE – FREE FUN THIS SATURDAY! 🎉
📅 Saturday 13th June ⏰ 11am – 3pm
We’re creating a safe, positive space for children and young people this weekend 💙
With planned marches taking place along County Road in Walton, we recognise this may be a difficult time for some families following events two years ago. This session is designed to divert children and young people into something fun, safe, and supportive away from the area.
💥 Enjoy a 2-hour Bounce House session using our code!
✅ Safe and welcoming environment ✅ Positive, supervised activities ✅ A chance to have fun and stay supported

We’re incredibly proud to share that Walton Youth & Community Project (WYCP) has been nominated for a BBC Radio Merseyside Make a Difference Award 2026 🎉
These awards celebrate individuals and organisations who go above and beyond to make life better in our communities, and to be recognised in this way means the world to us 💙
Here’s a snippet from the nomination that truly touched us: ✨ “A community team that always gives something back… with the community at the heart of everything they do… a real credit to society.”
This nomination belongs to every young person, volunteer, staff member, and supporter who makes WYCP what it is. Together, we are changing lives for the better 🙌 thank you to our funders to help make this happen
