Chronic pain has been called an invisible condition. Although often devastating to the millions who have it and being one of the biggest causes of disability in the UK, to others it cannot be seen.

Can you help with a research study ?

The Research team are looking for individuals with painful diabetic neuropathy to take part in a research study at the Clinical Sciences Centre, Aintree Hospital.

You may be eligible if you are over 18 years, have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and have been diagnosed with painful neuropathy.

You may NOT be eligible if you have heart failure or significant lower limb swelling and leg ulceration or have a permanent pacemaker, any implanted electronic device.

Length of study - 3 visits lasting 1-2 hours over 4 weeks.

Busy morning with the social group this morning (I forgot to get an action shot! 🫣) We had Sarah from Sefton Carers Centre with some great advice on being an unpaid carer and what services are available such as group activities, courses, counselling etc. We also chatted about living daily in chronic pain and how do we know when a flare is coming?.
