This study is being conducted as part of the CHAMP programme of research which is focused on improving Communication by Healthcare professionals Assessing and Managing Pain. The purpose of this study is to find out how healthcare professionals talk about pain with children/young people and their parents. We are particularly interested in finding out what ‘good’ and ‘bad’ conversations about pain have been experienced by children, young people and their families and what the long-term impact of these conversations have been.
