Taking time out to properly rest isn’t a luxury when you’re dealing with stroke recovery. It is a massive part of getting better.

When your body and mind are constantly pushed to the limit, everything feels harder. Giving yourself dedicated time to relax helps reset your system, making the rest of your rehab work so much smoother for both stroke survivors and the family caring for them.

Why It Helps Stroke Survivors
Calms tight muscles: Taking the pressure off helps ease physical tension and post-stroke spasticity.
Supports brain recovery: Lowering your stress levels gives your brain the quiet space it needs to process new movement patterns.
Recharges your battery: Stroke fatigue is real. A calm space lets you rest without losing any momentum in your recovery.

Why It Helps Carers
Takes off the physical strain: Caring for someone takes a heavy toll. Slowing down helps lower your heart rate and relieve built-up body fatigue.
Prevents burnout: You cannot pour from an empty cup. Taking an hour or two for yourself gives you the strength to keep going.
A chance to just be: Stepping out of your daily routine for a brew and a chat with people who get it makes a world of difference.

Join Us This Wednesday
Come along to Birkenhead for some guided relaxation, therapy support, and a relaxed environment to catch your breath.

When: Every Wednesday, 12:00pm to 2:30pm
Where: The Foundry Business Centre, Marcus Street, Wirral, CH41 1EU
Details: £5 entry (includes tea and coffee)
Pop in, sit back, and take some well-deserved time for yourself. Everyone is welcome.
