A great day out for our Junior Social Brokers! ♻️

Our young people from Kirkdale St Lawrence Primary School enjoyed a trip to Veolia | UK & Ireland Recycling Centre, learning more about recycling, waste management and how we can all play our part in protecting the environment.

A huge thank you to Rachel for giving us the tour and sharing her knowledge!

It’s all part of our work to help keep Liverpool North Docks tidy and create a greener future for our community. 🌱💚

We’re taking the show on the road! 💚

This week, we’ve been out and about across our communities, from school coffee morning drop-ins and community hub food events to colleges and even knocking on doors!

Whether it’s helping residents sign up to the Priority Services Register (PSR), sharing energy efficiency advice, providing fuel vouchers or simply stopping for a chat, we’re here to make sure people feel supported, connected and less alone.

📍 Meeting people where they are.
🤝 Connecting residents with the support they need.
💚 Building stronger, more connected communities.

We’re not just waiting for people to come to us — we’re taking the support out to them!

Yesterday, the team took part in a Dementia Information Session with Kay Nayland, Dementia Friend Ambassador from the Alzheimer’s Society.

The session gave us a better understanding of dementia, how we can make our centre and community more dementia friendly, and how we can encourage others to become Dementia Friends too.

A big thank you to Kay for sharing her knowledge and helping us continue to make The Social Brokers a welcoming place for everyone. 💜 Alzheimer's Society

This Monday, we welcomed guests from across different sectors to our centre in Kirkdale for the launch of our new evaluation, carried out by Dr Susan Giles at the University of Liverpool.

It was a brilliant opportunity to sit down with local and national changemakers and reflect on the impact we’ve had in Kirkdale since we began more than two years ago.

The evaluation looked at our Safer Homes, Stronger Families project, funded by Cadent, and the difference it has made to people and communities across Kirkdale. It’s a real reflection of the work that has gone into the project - and a reminder that we’re heading in the right direction.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support our work, and to everyone who came along on Monday to share in the day.

And thank you to Dr Susan Giles, Lord John Bird and Professor Helen Stalford for your kind words and for taking the time to speak about the work we’re doing.

Most importantly, thank you to the community of Kirkdale. This work is for you, and we’re proud to keep building on what we’ve started. ❤️

We couldn’t deliver our Monday Food Club with The Bread and Butter Thing without our brilliant volunteers! ❤️

Hear from Samson, who has been with us from the very start, about what volunteering means to him and why he keeps coming back every Monday.

A huge thank you to Samson and all of our amazing volunteers for helping make the Food Club possible week after week. 👏
