With Andy Burnham now opening 100 mental health community drop-in centres to support those in society who are struggling, we all need to put good practice out there to help with other societal issues. Andy Burnham The Labour Party
At The Social Brokers, we’ve always had a focus on helping primary school children understand how to cope and navigate the challenges ahead. With access to the future workforce and leaders, and just like every primary school teacher and wider staff team, we identify those who need more time and resources than others.
The lack of continuity from primary to secondary has been a key focus for us. For nearly three years we’ve been working to provide a space for children who need adults who can listen and respond in the moment. We work alongside schools, children’s services and other statutory organisations to build trust and create a more inclusive pathway for young people to be the best version of themselves.
The birth of ‘The Junior Social Brokers’ was a child-led idea. It has now developed into many projects: maths, music, fashion, film-making, design, research and education programmes that matter. We address relevant issues upstream to give children the skills to help them grow.
