Sefton Carers Centre We provide free advice and guidance, emotional and practical support, training and a range of holistic therapies for unpaid carers living in Sefton.

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems. Anyone can become a carer. Indeed carers come from all walks of life, all cultures and can be of any age. Many feel they are doing what anyone else

would in the same situation; looking after their mother, son, or best friend and just getting on with it. Carers don’t choose to become carers: it just happens and they have to get on with it. If they did not do it, who would and what would happen to the person they care for? Our vision at Sefton Carers Centre is of a world in which the role and contribution of unpaid Carers is recognised and valued and where unpaid Carers have access to support and services of the quality that they need to live their own lives.

💼 Connect to Work – Support into Employment 💼

We recently had the pleasure of hearing about Connect to Work with Sefton Community Learning Service & Sefton At Work , a programme supporting people across Sefton who may be finding it difficult to get into work or stay in employment.

If you’re an unpaid carer, have a health condition, or are facing other barriers to employment, this service could help you take the next step.

Connect to Work offers:
✅ Your own dedicated employment specialist
✅ A personalised plan to support your goals
✅ Practical help in the workplace and beyond
✅ Advice on adjustments to make work more manageable
✅ Support to help your voice be heard

This is a free, voluntary programme designed to support people into meaningful, sustainable employment or help those already working to stay in their job.

❕You must:
• Be aged 18+
• Live in Sefton
• Want to find work or stay in employment

Looking for a gentle, feel‑good way to support your wellbeing? These Mindful Movement Workshops are a great way to relax, reconnect and enjoy movement in a fun, laid‑back and supportive environment.
