20km? No problem! 😎 On Sunday, more than 30 children, young people and adults took on the Wirral Coastline Walk to raise money and awareness for Alfie’s Squad.

With sand blowing in our faces, tired legs, dancing at every km achieved and some blisters along the way, everyone (even those with little legs) did themselves proud!

Thanks to our brilliant walkers and everyone who donated ✨over £6,000✨including Gift Aid has been raised so far, and the total is still rising.

Donations help us continue to support children and young people bereaved by su***de, and their families. Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, cheered us on, provided snacks or helped make the day happen a huge success!

You are all amazing! 🤩

Well done to all the charities who took part and the Rotary Club of Mid-Wirral who organised an excellent event 🧡

Although their point scoring system was questionable!

We also spotted the "DAT IS HARD" - feedback is taken very seriously from our young members 😎

Braving the mud and water, this weekend, our very own Community and Events Officer, Chris, completed Born Survivor at Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire, in support of Alfie's Squad 🎉💪 🎉

The Ultimate Military Obstacle Course was designed by Royal Marines Commandos, so you can imagine how tough it was to battle through 10ft waterslides, muddy tunnels, crawl in mud under barbed wire and climb cargo nets up muddy hills while water was being sprayed at them!

"It was great to see teams working together, many hands pushing and pulling each other out of the mud! The legs might be aching still and I've a few bruises, but I loved it! I love a challenge and even more that it was a chance to raise awareness and money for Alfie's Squad!"

Sometimes it starts with something small, building, playing, sitting side by side🧡

At Alfie’s Squad, we don’t ask our young members to talk about their experiences. We create spaces where they feel safe enough to just be themselves.

And often, while they’re building, laughing, or spending time together, those conversations come naturally. Like building a little home with connection and trust.

If you know a family with children or young people affected by su***de loss, our Squads in Liverpool and Bolton offer a space where they can feel less alone.

Thankfully our young members are far more talented. Looking forward to seeing what creations they come with at tomorrow's support session as we prepare more goodies for the garden at Sefton Park.

Sneak peek of their creative talents, it's all you're getting for now!

Garden plans are underway to help celebrate Palm House Sefton Park turning 25, since it was reopened to the public once again in 2001!

Alfie’s Squad is one of a small number or charities and local projects that have been asked to design their own small temporary garden to mark the milestone.

Our young members have come up with some bright welcoming ideas for the public to enjoy in June, so look out for more details coming soon!
