We were honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Shorthall, to the Pagoda Arts Centre today to enjoy a performance by the Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra and meet with children, families, volunteers, and community members.

The Lord Mayor praised the hard work and dedication of the young musicians, as well as the continued support from parents and the wider community.

During the visit, awards were presented to young people recognising their long-term commitment and contribution to the orchestra over a number of years. Appreciation certificates were also presented to volunteers and community members who have supported the development of Pagoda Arts and the orchestra.

The Lord Mayor also invited the children to visit Liverpool Town Hall and learn more about the work of the city council and local government.

Thank you to all our parents, volunteers, tutors, supporters, and community partners for your continued support of Pagoda Arts and the Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra.

Our children’s classes help young people develop creativity, concentration, confidence, and musical skills in a fun and supportive environment. Students will explore Chinese music and culture while learning performance techniques and building self-expression through music.

Val and Ray, members of our Tai Chi group, shared their experience at Pagoda Arts.

Through regular practice, they found Tai Chi helped them improve their wellbeing, stay active, and enjoy being part of a supportive community.

At Pagoda Arts, Tai Chi is more than exercise — it’s a space to move, connect, and look after yourself.
