Shout out to John and Simon who are taking part in a 450 mile bike ride to recreate a trip they did 50 years ago. They will be starting in London and making their way back to the Wirral.

The pair are fundraising for The Whitechapel Centre in memory of Nicole, who lost her life when she was sleeping rough.

The New Beginnings gardening group have done a great job tidying up the plot and have even been able to harvest the first courgettes. Many thanks to LCC for the skip!

Our New Beginnings team offer a range of activities for members to use their time in a meaningful way, rediscover old hobbies and develop new skills. It is an important part of developing positive connections in the community and helping people move on from homelessness.

We're so excited to be bringing the The 24 Hour Run Against Homelessness to Liverpool in October. Here's a little explainer about the different ways you can get involved.

The fab Moose Coffee on Princes Dock will be our host venue for the event and will be keeping our runners fueled throughout the 24 hours.

We've already had a great response from local running clubs On the Run Penny Lane Striders Public Page Rimrose Runners and Liverpool Frontrunners - but we'd love to have even more sign up.

And there are some very reasonable sponsorship opportunities for businesses to show their support.

We welcome and are delighted by today's announcement by Andy Burnham. It signifies a moral commitment, provides additional funding and a deadline to provide every person sleeping rough with the offer of a bed before Christmas. It shows rough sleeping is not acceptable and the announcement commits to ending it.

The challenge will be to turn a bed every night into long-term solutions. People need safe, sustainable accommodation - a home. A bed every night is the starting point. To make it sustainable, people need access to affordable housing, support services, mental health and treatment services, access into employment opportunities, and so on. To deliver this, long-term investment is required. This will be the challenge.

Today we begin our drive to get everyone in for Christmas. And it will be for local communities up and down the land to decide how best to do it, says prime minister Andy Burnham

Next year's London Marathon is going to be double the fun - taking place on both Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th April - and we have been lucky enough to get places for both days!
