We've partnered with Tournify for this year's Spirit of Merseyside League season!

The Tournify app will allow all players, managers, and staff to have instant access to their fixtures, see the results of every game, and keep an eye on where they are in the table, all season long!

Thank you to Tournify for providing us with their software - just another reason why our 20th SOML season promises to be our best yet!

We'd like to give our thanks to Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, who are based in the Bait ul Lateef Ahmadiyya Mosque on Breck Road.

They have provided our last few drop in sessions with food for our players, without asking anything in return - thank you for your kindness, and Ramadan Mubarak to you all!

Congratulations to our women's team, who played their final matches of the She Inspires league season yesterday!

The whole team played so well throughout the whole season, and managed to come second in the league, despite being promoted to a higher tier than last season! They were very unlucky to just miss out on top spot - but we're all so proud of everything they have achieved!

The She Inspires cup starts next month - please join us in wishing them the best of luck!

We would like to thank Armadillo Storage Bootle for their continued support over the years!

We've gathered quite the collection of gear and equipment, and we'd be absolutely lost without somewhere to hold it all!

We spent the morning at the Cunard Building for the latest Liverpool Community Network event, which saw a number of charities and community groups from around the city gather together to share ideas and reach out to each other with their needs, wants, and plans for 2026!

It was also a great opportunity to reflect on last year's Christmas wrapping event that we took part in with our friends from The Task, and to see what developments they have coming up!

All in all an inspiring morning surrounded by like-minded people who are making a difference to our communities.

The match day themes are set for our upcoming Spirit of Merseyside League season!

We believe football is more than just a game, it’s a platform to support our community and raise awareness for the issues that matter most.

We are looking for community organisations and guest speakers to join us throughout the season. Whether you can provide resources, share your story, or offer expert insight, we want to hear from you!

If your organisation aligns with any of these themes and you’d like to collaborate on a match day, please send us a DM or comment below! Let’s work together to make a difference on and off the pitch.

Today we laid Sheila to rest - everyone at LHFC is thinking about her family and friends at this sad time. Below are a few words from our CEO, John;

“Sheila was the kind of person whose presence could lift a room before she even opened her mouth—and when she did open it, you knew you were in for words of wisdom, laughter, or both.

To me, she wasn’t just a colleague. She was my friend, my sidekick, and the partner in crime I never asked for, but was blessed to have. With her quick humour, her grit, and that fierce loyalty of hers, she made every day brighter, and every challenge feel possible.

She wasn’t just part of the community—she was the heartbeat of it. She showed up for people in ways that mattered, offering kindness without judgement, and strength without hesitation. And she dragged me along for the ride more times than I can count!

I’ll never forget the day she told me to get the minibus to the M&S Exhibition Centre. I thought we were picking up a few boxes. Next thing I know, we’re shifting what was literally an entire exhibition’s worth of food. Only Sheila could get me into a situation like that and make it feel like an adventure.

Or the Christmas when I’d already delivered about a million toys to her, and she rang me on Christmas Eve—Christmas Eve!—and said, “John, I’ve got this single mum who’s got nothing.” And of course, off we went again, because when Sheila called, you didn’t say no. You showed up, just the way she did. She made sure people had what they needed, even if it meant opening her doors on Christmas Day to feed the five thousand.

To her friends, she was a confidante, a source of endless laughter, and the person who could make even the hardest days feel survivable. She reminded us that no one had to face their struggles alone. Her spirit embodied everything Liverpool Homeless FC stands for: resilience, solidarity, and the belief that every person deserves dignity and belonging.
Sheila’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the friendships she forged, and the community she helped strengthen. I’ll remember her not just for her courage, but for her warmth, her wit, her chaos, and her unwavering heart.

She leaves behind a space that can’t be filled, but also a reminder to look after one another the way she always did. Those of us who knew her will carry her memory forward with pride, love, and deep gratitude.

May she rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire those she cared for so deeply.”
