On Sunday, Local Welcome hosted another community meal in Liverpool. Our main meal meal was Fried Sweet Potato. This started out as an attempt to make Sweet Potato Rostis !! We also made flatbreads by popular demand and avocado, cucumber and tomato salad. We had guests from Libya, Algeria and Chad. A big thank you to Lowri and Georgia, who stepped in as leaders late in the day when one of our regular leaders couldn't make it.

Last Saturday, I attended a Local Welcome get together in Birmingham, celebrating 10 years of Local Welcome hosting meals for refugees, asylum seekers and local people. It was great to meet volunteers and organizers from all across the UK.

Local Welcome guests and myself were on Liverpool Waterfront today for another community litter pick. Afterwards we dropped into a local bar to watch the Liverpool match

On Tuesday myself and Mahamat had a really great evening watching Liverpool beat Tottenham 3-1. It was Mahamat's first ever visit to Anfield. We were in the Upper Anfield Road. We had a great view of the Szobozslai goal, even from a distance. Mahamat has been a regular at Local Welcome
meals in Liverpool for several years now. He's a big Liverpool fan and we've talked about getting to Anfield for a long time. We finally got there and saw a cracking match. A big thanks to Daithí Ó Faogáin who helped get us the tickets.
