This moment is taken from Handel’s Concerto Grosso Op 6/1, played by the Liverpool String Academy Orchestra with guest soloist, Thelma Handy at the beautiful Tung Auditorium in
Liverpool this June.

The Liverpool String Academy provides high quality, free training in string playing with a particular focus on historically informed performance to young people aged 8-23.

Being part of the Liverpool String Academy also includes high profile concert opportunities in venues such as The Tung Auditorium and Hallé St Peters, alongside internationally renowned visiting artists.

Save the date to come and see The Liverpool String Academy play as a Chamber Ensemble as part of the Yoko Ono Lennon Lunchtime Concert Series, on Wednesday 18 November 2026 ,

Yesterday’s concert was very special ✨

Thank you to everyone who came to watch the Liverpool String Academy Orchestra and Fabio Bagnoli at The Tung Auditorium! We are so proud of students for playing brilliantly and amazed as always by Fabio Bagnoli Oboe virtuosic and dynamic playing.

It is so special to be supported by the Tung Auditorium and our trustees to create opportunities like this for our students and invite internationally renowned artists to our city. We will be
announcing another concert very soon and hope to see you there if you missed this weekend’s performance.

This Sunday the Liverpool String Academy Orchestra will be performing an afternoon concert at The Tung Auditorium with Fabio Bagnoli 🎻

The LSAO are returning after a critically acclaimed performance with Thelma Handy, Joint Principle of the Liverpool Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which was described as “an accomplished and hugely impressive performance”. (Arts City Liverpool)

Come along for an ​​afternoon of Baroque repertoire from Bach, Corelli, Vivaldi and Purcell, with a special visiting international artist, renowned oboist Fabio Bagnoli Oboe. This is not a performance to be missed.

In less than a week the Liverpool String Academy Orchestra are returning to the Tung Auditorium with LSA international visiting artist . This will be the third and final concert in our series with Fabio in 2026 and the culmination of our work during the summer residency in Italy.

The Liverpool String Academy Orchestra are not to be missed, having been described as “technically and tonally accomplished…where closing your eyes you could imagine you were listening to a professional recording.” Arts City Liverpool.

Here’s a moment from our last Tung concert with Fabio Bagnoli, playing the grand and lavish opening to Vivaldi Sonata, “La Follia” RV 63.

The Liverpool String Academy provides high quality, free training in string playing with a particular focus on historically informed performance to young people aged 8-23.

Our tutors are highly trained professional musicians, working as performers in their own right with orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, the Hallé, Opera north and Manchester Baroque.

Being part of the Liverpool String Academy also includes high profile concert opportunities in venues such as The Tung Auditorium and Hallé St Peters, playing alongside internationally renowned visiting artists.

With the beginning of the new academic year, we wanted to look back at all the amazing things our students achieved in 2025/2026.

We had an unforgettable second concert in Turin to a packed church and a standing ovation for the Bach to Bach festival organised by Coro Maghini Torino ✨
Thank you so much for having us and to the incredible Fabio Bagnoli Oboe for playing with us and working with our young people over the course of this week. We can’t wait to see you again for our concert on 4th October at The Tung Auditorium 🎻
