🛑 OPERATION SAFE PASS: DI**LE 🐴

A huge thank you to Merseyside Police for partnering with us on Operation Safe Pass to help educate drivers and protect our young riders, ponies, and local community! 💙
🛣️ SHARING OUR INNER-CITY ROADS SAFELY
When you see our ponies and young riders out on the streets of the Di**le, please help us keep everyone safe by following these simple rules:
🚗 PASS WIDE & SLOW: Leave at least 2 metres (6.5 ft) of space and slow down to 10 mph or less—even when driving towards a horse.
🐴 HORSES ARE FLIGHT ANIMALS: Traffic noise and sudden movements can startle even calm horses into moving unexpectedly.
🚘Do not sound your horn, rev your engine, or accelerate rapidly either while approaching or after you have passed.
🖐️ WATCH FOR HAND SIGNALS from riders asking you to slow down or stop, and wait until completely safe before overtaking.
📊 WHY THIS MATTERS: THE STATISTICS
According to the British Horse Society (BHS):
Over 2,800 road incidents involving horses are reported every year.
82% of these incidents occur because cars pass too fast or too close.
Tragically, road accidents lead to horse fatalities and severe injuries to riders annually.
📲 REPORT NEAR MISSES & INCIDENTS
We fully support the BHS "Dead Slow" campaign. If you experience or witness an incident or near miss involving horses on the road, please report it via the BHS 'Horse I' app or at bhs.org.uk/dead-slow.
Your reports help gather vital data to make our roads safer for everyone! 💙🐴
