You are personally invited to a coffee Morning at Doogles Donuts, 17 Mann Island, Liverpool L3 1BP, Liverpool, on Monday 2nd November 2026 11.30 am to 2.00pm
Life and Society have changed - and Yellow House has changed with them. My own serious, long-term illness has also been an important factor in that transition. It is time to change, and I am preparing my thoughts for the future, especially the next 6 months: I would really appreciate your ideas, visions, and practical help to make these changes and enable Yellow House to continue offering its services to young people.
I would like us to:
• Find a space - Library/Museum/Hall - to host a Morning/Afternoon/Evening showing and telling the History of Yellow House and our proposals for the future - - using projections/slides/music/storytelling
• Develop and finish our Van Gogh on Merseyside Graphic Book
• Have some form of online presence - - where our experiences and expertise matter and say something - - even a sort of comments on youth issues/society/community/art/ Autism/Neurodiversity
• A Long-Term Legacy for Yellow House - - Bootle or Liverpool? Where?
• Regular meetings just for catch-up and conversation

That’s plenty to be going on with:

I will:

1. Develop a short-term, small-scale funding strategy and make Applications (I have 5 such Bids in preparation at the moment)
2. Other ways of receiving funds - - easyfundraising (people buy something for example from Amazon/Argos/Tesco and Yellow House gets a donation:this is up and running) - - localgiving (people can donate directly into Yellow House; we have Monthly Donations and then special Appeals) - - I have set up a Lottery where you can buy a weekly ticket and win money and 50%of ticket sales go to Yellow House: I will explain this later - - it is a new idea.
3. Reconstruct and define our Management Committee and Trustees
4. Complete our 2025-26 Annual Report and Accounts

I will need your help - - and I am happy to chat about what we can all do to help each other.

Yellow House: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
April 1984 – April 2027

If any of the memories below speak to you, you are part of the magical years of Yellow House. After more than 42 years, life and society have changed - and Yellow House has changed with them. My own serious, long-term illness has also been an important factor in that transition. It is time to change, and I am preparing my thoughts for the future, especially the next 6 months
• Porter Street Warehouse/St. Stephens Church Hall Bootle/Orrell Park Library
• EB’s and gigs
• Marmaduke Street, where you could feel the silence at half past eleven Saturday mornings in the art room
• Sunny summer afternoons travelling on the No. 10 bus to playschemes: Thatto Heath St Cuthbert’s
• Ribblesdale The Yellow House of Love
• Allerton, Navigation Wharf Music, Conversation and Shared Moments
Music filled the front room: the Beatles, Van Morrison, Katerina Von Stadt, Songs of the Auvergne, and Renata Tebaldi singing Madama Butterfly. Between the music came silence and conversation, laughter and singing, and those shivers at the back of the neck - moments that left us feeling wondrous, illuminated and alive. Dinners at the Round Table, books, posters, flowers, and performances.
Yellow House performed locally and across Britain, then travelled farther afield. We made long drives to France and Poland, and for many of us, took a first flight.

I will need some of your help - first - I suggest an open meeting - either online, but preferably live somewhere central, with light refreshments - Doogles, perhaps? I suggest we do this on Monday 2nd November: I would like us to think about and develop:

This is George - your friend for many years.
You know me from , , or in other ways. This is not a self-pity moan; it is a genuine cry for help from you.
At present, my life’s work over the past 40+ years is in danger of collapse, mainly because of my own fight over the past 3 years against life-threatening blood cancers, which has included more than 12 months in hospital and a further 6 months bed/housebound. This meant that most of my energy had to be directed towards my health and recovery. Sadly, Yellow House suffered as a result - funding has fallen by 80%, and finding new funds is becoming more difficult. I cannot give up my important work - I am back now with Yellow House, supporting our young people.
You have always been tremendously supportive.
NOW we need your support more than ever. I/we have around 1,500 followers on SM. I need to be clear and direct: I am asking as many of my friends as possible to donate (at least) £5 per month by Direct Debit/Standing Order for Yellow House services supporting Neurodiverse, isolated, and lonely young people.
