Today marked the launch of our Women in Music programme, delivered in partnership with the Eleanor Rathbone Foundation, and what an incredible start it has been.

We were delighted to welcome an amazing group of talented artists for the first session, bringing together a wide range of experiences, perspectives and voices from across the music industry.

Throughout the day, we explored a huge range of topics and aspects of the music industry, looking at how it works, what different roles involve, and what it means for women looking to build and develop their careers within music.

The session also featured a fantastic Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and explore some of the challenges and opportunities within the industry.

It was an inspiring and engaging first day, and we’re incredibly excited to see where this programme takes our artists as we continue the journey together.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to the Eleanor Rathbone Foundation for helping make the programme possible.

Big Condo Academy has delivered an amazing media programme in partnership with The The King’s Trust | Free Courses & Job Support and funded by The Access Group Foundation , providing learners with an incredible opportunity to explore the creative industries while developing their skills, confidence and self-esteem. Throughout the programme, learners took part in podcasting, filmmaking, acting, special effects, photography and music production, as well as gaining valuable hands-on experience in operating cameras, lighting and audio equipment. The programme also included inspiring career talks, industry guidance and signposting to further opportunities and support. It was a fantastic week of learning, creativity, personal development and teamwork, giving learners the chance to discover new talents, build practical skills and grow in confidence. Big Condo Academy would like to thank The King’s Trust and the Access Foundation for supporting such a fantastic opportunity. What a week and what a huge successful programme.

The Big Condo Academy partnered with Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) through the Community Impact Fund to deliver an amazing creative skills programme for 12–16-year-olds, covering podcasting, music production, fashion design, guitar, film, content creation and voice-over acting. The highlight was giving the young people the chance to create voice-over performances for animation, exploring new skills and building confidence along the way. A huge success, with participants taking their new skills and experiences back into school. 🙌 Massive thanks to LCVS for funding this fantastic project and helping us create opportunities for the next generation of creatives!

We recently partnered with Football For Change and CF for Merseyside to deliver our Dream Chasers programme, and it’s a huge success!

The programme gives young people the opportunity to develop a wide range of creative, digital and career-focused skills, while gaining hands on experience across areas including podcasting, special effects, video editing, content creation, digital media, music production, digital CV development, career pathways, music industry knowledge, A&R and social media.

Alongside building valuable skills, participants also developed confidence, self-esteem, communication and teamwork abilities. The programme has helped raise aspirations, inspire creativity and open doors to new opportunities, empowering the next generation with the tools, knowledge and belief to pursue their goals.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and grateful to everyone who helped make the programme such a success. We can’t wait to see what our Dream Chasers achieve next!

The journey doesn’t stop here, we’re excited to continue the programme after the summer half term and keep supporting young people as they explore their potential.

Last week, Big Condo Academy launched its Summer HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme in partnership with Merseyside Play Action Council and Liverpool City Council , bringing together young people for a week of creativity, learning and media production.

At the start of the week, we asked our learners what they wanted to explore and create. Their ideas shaped an exciting programme filled with hands on activities, including filmmaking, content creation, photography and music production.

Throughout the week, learners developed new skills, worked collaboratively and brought their creative ideas to life. One of the highlights was the creation of a short film, alongside producing digital content, capturing photography and experimenting with music production.

It was a brilliant week celebrating imagination, confidence and creativity, giving young people the opportunity to express themselves through different forms of media and develop valuable creative skills.
