What a crazy few weeks at the Big Condo Academy HAF with Merseyside Play Action Council and Liverpool City Council !

We recently partnered with Football For Change and CF for Merseyside to deliver our Dream Chasers programme, and it’s a huge success!

The programme gives young people the opportunity to develop a wide range of creative, digital and career-focused skills, while gaining hands on experience across areas including podcasting, special effects, video editing, content creation, digital media, music production, digital CV development, career pathways, music industry knowledge, A&R and social media.

Alongside building valuable skills, participants also developed confidence, self-esteem, communication and teamwork abilities. The programme has helped raise aspirations, inspire creativity and open doors to new opportunities, empowering the next generation with the tools, knowledge and belief to pursue their goals.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and grateful to everyone who helped make the programme such a success. We can’t wait to see what our Dream Chasers achieve next!

The journey doesn’t stop here, we’re excited to continue the programme after the summer half term and keep supporting young people as they explore their potential.

Last week, Big Condo Academy launched its Summer HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme in partnership with Merseyside Play Action Council and Liverpool City Council , bringing together young people for a week of creativity, learning and media production.

At the start of the week, we asked our learners what they wanted to explore and create. Their ideas shaped an exciting programme filled with hands on activities, including filmmaking, content creation, photography and music production.

Throughout the week, learners developed new skills, worked collaboratively and brought their creative ideas to life. One of the highlights was the creation of a short film, alongside producing digital content, capturing photography and experimenting with music production.

It was a brilliant week celebrating imagination, confidence and creativity, giving young people the opportunity to express themselves through different forms of media and develop valuable creative skills.

This week, we worked in partnership with The Access Foundation to deliver an intensive and engaging media training programme to a group of enthusiastic learners.

Participants gained hands-on experience across a wide range of creative and technical disciplines, including podcasting, special effects, digital CV creation, career planning, and video editing. Training also covered industry-standard software such as Logic Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and OBS, alongside practical sessions in camera operation, photography, acting, and content creation.

In addition, learners developed valuable skills in social media and digital marketing, preparing them for real-world media environments.

The programme was met with outstanding enthusiasm, with participants expressing how much they enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to build new skills. Following feedback questionnaires and group discussions, learners reported feeling more confident and increasingly motivated to pursue careers in media and creative industries.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering young people with practical skills, confidence, and career direction through creative education.
