Supply issues of some of the UK’s favourite alcohol brands are expected this summer, as Encirc workers have escalated strike action.

Further strike dates are set for 3 to 15 May and 1 to 15 June. 🚩

“Strike action has proved disruptive so far, and this escalation will only lead to further delays to glass bottle production.

“Encirc must change tack and come back to negotiations with a meaningful solution to the problems our members are raising, otherwise industrial action will only continue.” Andrew Johnson, Regional Officer.

Unite members, based at Encirc’s Elton, Cheshire site, took action this weekend over proposed redundancies with the firm looking to reduce its headcount by 28 people despite being a highly profitable company.

Workers say losing this number of staff will negatively impact workers’ stress levels, increase workloads and create safety issues.

Further strike action is set for 3 - 7 April 🗓️

“Encirc has still time to halt this disruptive strike action, but that relies on management coming back to negotiations with alternatives.” Andrew Johnson, regional officer.

We’re calling out union-busting at the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Clocktower 📣

After organising for better conditions against chronic understaffing, burnout and unfair treatment union reps have been suspended and dismissed.

But workers are not backing down. Last week, staff and supporters staged a protest outside Kimpton's hotel on Oxford Street in Manchester to make their voices heard.

Union membership is growing, and Unite Hospitality will keep fighting for fairness, dignity at work, and union recognition ✊

✊ Congratulations to Unite the union members at BAE Systems after securing a pay rise worth 6% overall as well as additional annual leave and a one-off payment.
