Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary Registered Charity Number 1157210 is a small foster home based animal sanctuary in the Merseyside area, set up in July 2013. We primarily focus on rescuing unwanted/stray cats and rabbits, however we will aim to help any animal in need. We currently have several foster homes

throughout Merseyside and we are very keen to recruit more! To find out more information, please get in touch; [email protected]
We have a strict non-destruction policy and will keep every animal in our care until a forever home can be found. We carry out home visits on prospective new homes, this is to ensure that the area is safe/suitable and also provide a time for advice on adopting a rescue pet and answering any questions the prospective owner has. Home visits are not to look at how clean a house is or
what the decor is like! All Rescue Me animals are deflea'd, wormed, microchipped, neutered (if the animal is too young, he/she will be recalled for neutering). Our philosophy is to accept an animal into our care based solely on its need and not on any other physical characteristic, providing we have a suitable foster home free. We believe that by looking after a rescue pet in a home environment we are able to fully assess the animal, understand its needs and the type of home he/she will require and ultimately match them to a suitable home. We are very excited about our new venture but currently only have a handful of volunteers, with more support we can achieve things faster and rescue even more needy animals...please come and join us, we'll welcome you aboard!!! We are desperate for donations, please help to keep us afloat!! Paypal; [email protected]

* DOG FOOD AND TREATS NEEDED FOR THE DOGS IN OUR CARE *

Since our kennels have opened, we are proud to be able to help more and more dogs. This includes both dogs for adoption and dogs who have been offered sanctuary space, just like our lovely Nessie! However, this does mean that our supplies of dog food and high value treats are quickly running out and we need your help.

We have moved these items to the top of our wishlist to make them easier to find.

UMPTY SAT ON A WALL….BUT DIDN’T FALL OFF 😻🐾

Umpty Dumpty has lost his ‘H’ and that stands for ‘Home’, which he is desperately seeking for 🏡.

Little Umpty is 17- weeks old and is a loveable and affectionate kitten. He loves nothing more than cuddling up in a lap or sitting next to his fosterer, on the sofa, to watch TV. He has discovered a love for Westerns – he loves watching the horses 🐴. He has got the loudest of purrs and will always be ready to greet you with a friendly tail-greeting!

Umpty also loves playing with his toys 🧸☄️and can often be seen running about with a pom-pom or a scrunchy ball in his mouth as he takes them back to his room to keep them safe. He is a typical, confident kitten – into everything! His new home will have to be made kitten-proof before he arrives….he is a bit of a free runner and enjoys jumping onto all the high spaces 🙀

Umpty can be quite full on when playing but is getting better at directing this energy onto his favourite kickaroo. Due to this, any children must be aged 10-years+. He loves the resident cats in his foster home, so can live with neutered, fully vaccinated, cat-friendly resident cats. He has never lived with dogs.

Umpty had cat flu when he came to us and has remained congested. He can sound a bit shuffle when playing and can occasionally sneeze. Our vet is happy for him to be adopted, as this is something that should clear when his immunity matures. However, it may flare up with the stress of a move to a new home and this will not be covered by insurance. Any resident cats must be fully upto date with their annual vaccinations.

Umpty is a very special boy and is waiting to find his best friend. He has got so much love to give. He will certainly keep his adopters laughing and smiling as he brings joy and happiness into their life. Are you the one to do the same for him?
He is in foster in Runcorn and has been neutered, chipped, parasite treated and is fully vaccinated. If interested in adopting him, please call us on 07952017696 and leave a voicemail. Adoption fee of £150 and vetting applies.

💚 Beautiful Barney, 10 months old Pocket Bully 💚

Seeking: A committed long-term relationship with someone who appreciates big cuddles, bigger personalities and occasional chaos.

About me:
I'm a handsome Pocket Bully cross who was hand-reared after being abandoned as a tiny puppy. I love everyone and everything in my foster home and firmly believe personal space is a myth. My hobbies include sofa snuggles, zoomies, playing with friends and singing karaoke loudly in the car.

My friends describe me as loving, funny and a complete class clown. My critics say I'm strong-willed, vocal and occasionally forget I've got manners. They're not entirely wrong.

Looking for:
An experienced bully or large-breed home that understands I'm still very much a puppy in a muscular body. I'll need ongoing training, guidance and someone willing to help me become the amazing adult dog I have all the potential to be. I'm currently needing extra help with my lead walking and training as I can shout at other dogs when on the lead.

Must have:
A secure garden, patience, a sense of humour and room on the sofa. Keen interest in training as super clever boy.

Deal breakers:
People looking for an easy dog - KEEP LOOKING! I'm a project, a best friend and an entertainer all rolled into one.

In return, I promise enough love, laughs and cuddles to last a lifetime.

All our dogs are neutered (if/when old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, parasite treated and come with 5 weeks free insurance. He is in foster in Warrington

If you live within an hour of L31, please complete an adoption application form to enquire with AS MUCH INFO as possible;

We need a name for our brave tortie girl & she has quite the update to share 😻
This gorgeous girl needs a name befitting the resilient & brave queen she is for her next chapter, so please leave your best name suggestions in the comments for her! 👇

The Big Update - with a dash of tortitude 😸🎉
SO many of you commented hoping she wouldn’t have to return to life outdoors after 8 years on the streets. Well, we have the best news: our team has assessed her, she even granted them the honour of a few tiny head scritches, so they're confident with time, patience, and love, she will let us find her a forever home! 🏡❤️
So, as soon she was ready after the many clinical procedures - the extensive dental through to the gentle but through de-matting, we moved her to home foster! 😸

Now on her third day of home comforts, we have this update from her foster home:

"She had strong opinions about the drive over 🚗 but is settling in & despite being very nervous, had a good explore when she arrived!
She is still very unsure & wary, but by the first evening, was using an open cozy cat bed rather than hiding away! 🤗
Most wonderfully, she's already started calling out for me, and when I enter, hops up onto the window sill & gives me a series of very serious, conversational meows. I'm sure she's already keeping me in check, and in true Tortitude fashion, has absolutely asked to speak to management a few times!🫣😂
It's very early days but very very hopeful she will let us show her that she deserves all the comforts & security of a loving forever home"
🏡😻

We are SO incredibly proud of this girl! No more cold nights, no more struggles! Her new life has officially begun 🎉 We'll keep you updated but for now, don't forget to drop your name suggestions below! Let's give this sweet survivor the perfect name. 👑👇

Our update wouldn't be complete without acknowledging those of you who've helped cover some of her costs, we've a way to go, but with no government funding, we rely solely on your donations, they are the reason we're able to help her!
We've also a BIG THANK YOU for those of you who donated to the group who got her to us. Moggies & Doggies took the emergency call for her, trapped & transported her to us so we could help her. They also rely solely on donations to operate, so your support helps make sure they'll be there for other animals in need of urgent help.

💚If you'd like to support her rescue journey with us, help with her clinical costs with a one off or monthly donation to Rescue Me

🐈🧡 Wanted: One Human Staff Member for Her Royal Highness Teegan 👑

After 9 years of perfecting the art of being a cat, Teegan is searching for a quiet INDOOR kingdom and a human who understands that affection is a privilege, not a right.

This beautiful ginger lady enjoys the finer things in life: comfy sofas, Dreamies, lap time, head bumps and being adored. In return, she'll reward her chosen person with purrs, companionship and enough personality to fill an entire house.

Now, full disclosure: Teegan does occasionally wake up and choose sass. If she's not in the mood, she'll let you know she'd prefer a little personal space. She's not looking for chaos, other pets or young children—just a calm, understanding home where she can relax and be herself.

Think of her as less "high maintenance" and more "luxury edition."

Teegan is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, parasite treated and recently had a dental, so she's feeling fabulous and ready for her next chapter. She's currently in foster in Preston.

If your idea of the perfect companion is a loving older cat with a little bit of spice and a lot of character, Teegan may just be the girl you've been waiting for.

📞 If interested in adopting Teegan, please call 07952 017 696 and leave a voicemail. Adoption fee of £125 and vetting applies.

🏡 Urgent Foster Home Needed For Izzy 🐾

Beautiful Izzy is an 8-year-old Puggle who came into our care after sadly facing euthanasia at a local vets. When she arrived, she was carrying three times her ideal body weight, but thanks to a strict diet and a lot of love, she has already achieved an incredible weight loss journey and has lost over 10kg but still has around 10kg to go 💚

Izzy is honestly one of the easiest, sweetest dogs you could ever meet. She adores everyone, loves attention, and takes life completely in her stride. Nothing seems to faze her — she’s just a happy little soul who wants cuddles, company and somewhere safe to rest her paws. She is very well behaved and would be great on trips to cafes and pups etc.

We urgently need a foster home where we can continue monitoring her health over the next few weeks/months. Izzy drinks and urinates more than normal and, despite investigations, no clear diagnosis has been found yet. It may be behavioural or linked to a rare form of diabetes. She is clean overnight in her kennel but does produce a large volume of urine when she then goes outside. We are confident she will be house trained as clean in her kennel so we feel she will be easy to manage.

Izzy can live with children aged 5+, and is absolutely fine with dogs (residents MUST be neutered). She can chase cats so best without cats.

If you think you could offer this lovely girl a calm, caring foster home, please get in touch as soon as possible 🐶💚

Potential fosterers must live within an hour from our site in Melling, and be able to bring them back for Vet checks. We require that you only use the Vet at our Rescue (and not your own vet), and most of the appointments will be on weekday afternoons. You must have your own transport, and we can supply you with everything you need (eg. food, bedding, bowls etc) for the duration of your fostering. You must have a secure, private garden and be at home for most of the day. Any potential meet and greets for adoptions can happen at your own home or at our site if you prefer.

We will always be on hand to answer any questions or provide any support you may need during the duration of your fostering.

To apply to foster Izzy, please fill out our online form with as much information as possible.

Our rescue doors never stop turning. We've admitted three generations of unspayed female cats from the same household.
Their owner is moving and unfortunately unable to take their six cats with them. While we have these three girls safe in our sanctuary, our team isn't resting yet—we're prepping the nursery right now because another female cat and her newborn kittens are on their way to us from the same home next! 🍼
This admission is the textbook definition of why spay & neuter is SO important. Without intervention, these three generations would have rapidly become four, five, and six.
Now that they are with us, the cycle stops. Our veterinary team will be giving them full health checks, treating them for parasites, microchipping them, and most importantly, getting them spayed before finding them the loving forever homes they deserve.
🏥 Can you help us?
Admitting an entire household of cats puts an immediate strain on our veterinary resources and pen space but it's vital we stop this cycle for these cats. We rely 100% on public donations to keep our clinic stocked with vaccines, microchips, and surgical supplies. If you can spare a few pounds to help us care for these three generations (and prepare for the newborns on the way), please tap the link in our bio.
