Snowdon Walk 2014

Snowdon Walk 2014 In aid of raising funds for the youth group of the Apostolic Church of Liverpool and the national youth organisation they are part of.

The Challenge aims to raise funds to build a Community Centre in the Longview area of Huyton. A building already exists at the address stated so the funds raised will be used to convert the older hall to a two story centre. The centre will consist of a reception, 12 offices and a conference/training room. Money has already been raised and used to convert the old kitchen and multipurpose room into

an area for a cafe. The overall aim of this centre is summed up in the two points below:

1. Community hub where families, young people and elderly residents can come together to build stronger community links with each other to address any local issues with other professional organisations i.e. gun crime, drugs, alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancy, rise in debt and coordinate local community events to create a stronger healthier community.

2.Training, education and employment opportunities aligned to the local economy to build confidence and self-esteem and increase chances of meaningful occupation by improving skills, knowledge and experience. This Challenge involves trekking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Ben Nevis(Scotland), the highest of the three peaks towers at 1344 metres (4409 ft), Scafell Pike(England) is a height of 978 metres (3209 ft) and Snowdon(Wales) stands at 1085 m (3560 ft).
