🌟 Real Impact in One of England’s Most Deprived Communities: BNENC’s Welfare Rights Service 🌟

In North Everton ward, Liverpool — one of the most deprived areas in the country — navigating the benefits system can feel impossible for families already facing huge financial pressures.

That’s exactly why BNENC’s Welfare Rights Service exists.

Our free, confidential service supports residents across L4, L5, L6 and L9 postcodes with:
• Benefits maximisation (Universal Credit, PIP, DLA, Carer’s Allowance and more)
• Energy Vouchers
• Property Pool Advice
The results speak for themselves.
Over the past three years, our Welfare Rights team has secured more than £1.8 million in previously unclaimed benefits for 5,862 local people.

Behind every pound is a family who can now afford to heat their home, put food on the table, or access vital support for a child with additional needs. We’ve also helped prevent evictions and supported people through some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

The service runs from The Breckfield Centre with outreach sessions across the community.

This work is only possible thanks to the expertise and compassion of our Welfare Rights team and the generous support of funders such as the National Lottery Community Fund, Ph Holt Foundation, Liverpool Community Volunteer Service, Plus Dane Housing Association and Local Councillors.

Every claim we help with reduces poverty, eases mental health pressures, and gives families a little more breathing space and dignity.

If you, or someone you know in the L4–L6 or L9 area, needs help with benefits, appeals or welfare rights advice, please get in touch.

🎉Proud Moment for BNENC! 🎉

We are absolutely delighted to announce that last week BNENC was honoured with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service — the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK!

The award was presented by the Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside in a wonderful ceremony attended by the Lady Mayoress of Liverpool, the High Sheriff of Merseyside, and Local Councillor Portia Fahey.

After thirty incredible years of dedicated voluntary service to our community, this recognition means the world to us. It’s a true testament to the hard work, passion, and commitment of our incredible team of volunteers, supporters, and everyone who has been part of the BNENC journey.

We are so proud of what we’ve achieved together and incredibly grateful for this royal honour. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past three decades — this award belongs to all of you!

Here’s to the next 30 years!
