Being asked out of the blue when the next Ignite is means that people are missing us. The opportunity to listen to talks the opportunity to give talks, see friends, catch up, be a little inspired.

But between now and New Brighton it would be good to have one in Liverpool - I have a certain venue in mind, which i am keeping to myself as I want to double check it for accessibility, noise levels etc. But it fits the budget.....it's free. So I will make an effort to visit it and get a date in the diary. But plan for late June.

It has been 6 months since our last one in Birkenhead - which was lovely and I have plans in my head to do one over the summer in .uk although I haven't spoken to Jayne about it or in fact ever visited (hanging head in shame here Jayne) I think it would be a great venue for a New Brighton Ignite during those lovely summer months. That's a pre-warning

There are still plans to have one at Liverpool Makefest, when that comes off in September or October. That will be a special as I have subjects i want people to talk about - it's the only one I get to chose a theme.

Now I can circulate a link to the Kate's that messaged me.

And here's some loooooooove videos to watch later - 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍🥰😍🥰

We're winding down for the Christmas here at Ignite Towers and slowly preparing for the New Year but wanted to say thank you for taking part in Ignite in 2025. Your participation may have only been to open these emails but you are all still important to us.

Ignite started in 2010, when a group of friends decided to organise our first event at the Art & Design school in John Moores University. And 15 years later, we are still friends. Three of those friends still work to make Ignite a success every few months, Adrian, Dan and Neil - we do pick up new helpers along the way and we thank them too, Kirsty, Lydia and Fin.

Your involvement by speaking, helping out, attending, or just by talking it up to friends, is so important to us. Ignite is very much about sharing and being open about ideas and personal passions. I think this is very much what creating a community is all about. Nothing makes me smile more than when we have a new speaker who automatically jumps and says "I want to do it again", I get the same warmth when an old hand steps forward after a few years break to give us their latest favourite talk topic. So thank you for taking part in our personal passion project.

We will be back next year, so look out for the announcements on that. If you haven't made it along in a few years, then make a special note to be with us in 2026, to help start the year the way you mean to carry on.

Remember - If you are looking for some Holiday entertainment then do check out our Youtube account where nearly all of our talks are. There are hundreds which will help you get through the break.

Merry Christmas and see you in 2026
Neil

Thank to everyone who came along on Tuesday night - we had such fun at Start-Yard.

At Ignite, we give everyone a voice. We invite people from all backgrounds to step onto the stage and share something they care about — whether it’s an idea, a passion, a project, or a personal story. Our 5-minute, 20-slide format lets us celebrate people, not credentials. We champion authenticity over formality, and passion over polish.

At its heart, we don’t just host talks — we build community, we build confidence, and we build connection.

Thank you to all of our speakers without whom we would not be able to make this happen.
