ause of death. Estimates suggest that 8.3% of people in Liverpool may develop diabetes by 2030 unless more support is provided to help people take better care of their health and wellbeing. The new service has been designed to tackle this challenge head-on, with a shared vision to improve outcomes for people living with diabetes. It forms part of the Healthy Liverpool programme, which aims to transform healthcare in the city so that everyone receives “consistent, high-quality healthcare” that will lead to “longer, healthier lives” by 2020.
