Our 'Breaking the Silence on Hygiene Insecurity' community art exhibition is having an opening this Friday from 6pm -9pm πŸŽ¨πŸ“Έ

Since late 2024 we have been working with LJMU on a research project exploring the impacts of hygiene insecurity in our local community. As part of the research we have used art as a way for people to explore their feelings and thoughts around the topic and this exhibition aims to showcase some of the amazing work produced by our community members over the course of the project.

We hope that the exhibition will inform and challenge people's perception on what is often a hidden issue and use this raised awareness to bring more people into the conversation about how we collectively support those living in/at risk of Hygiene Insecurity πŸ’š

There is below to RVSP for the opening. If you can't make this Friday not to worry as the exhibition will run in our space until 12th June at our usual opening hours

Call for Study Participants 🌟

Kittys are currently working with Liveprool John Moores University on a research project that explores the impact of hygiene insecurity in our community 🧺

We hope that by carrying out this research the findings can go on to help develope solutions that are meaningful, practical and accessible for the community of Anfield/Everton

We are looking for participants to take part in short interviews at Kitty's. The interview will explore the impacts and perceptions of hygiene insecurity, how organisations like Kitty's can best support people and what future community led solutions may look like πŸ’‘

All participants will receive a Β£20 Love2Shop voucher in return for their time.

If you wish to take part or find out more information please email [email protected]

Feel free to pop us a DM with any further questions πŸ˜€

On Saturday our Kitty's community ventured out to town to go on a walking tour centred around the Irish Famine Trail led by the amazing ArtsGroupie CIC and Liverpool Irish Festival ☘️

The trail was developed by Great Hunger Commemoration Committee and covers a range of sites of significant historic and social importance across Liverpool that aim to memorialise Irish influence and impact πŸ’š

This was our final event of the current local history programme and finishing in Museum of Liverpool near the picture of Kitty Wilkinson felt like a real full circle moment for all 🌟

Thank you to all of our amazing speakers who have made this programme so engaging. Thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund . And of course a massive thank you to our attendees who have turned up every other week to explore a new chapter in our wonderful cities history πŸŒ‡
